To hit or push your mother? Better explination- My friend got into a fight with her mother and hit her last night. She came over crying and really upset but she said that she could not take it anymore. My friend is 24 years old. I did not know what to tell her because my views is if you hit me i hit back mom or not Can anyone help on advise to give her?

ok maybe i should have went into more detail. Her mother lives with her and pays no bills and has been hitting her since she was little. But she is scared to death to be away from her. And her mother drinks alot. To the point that is the only time her mother hits her. What do you do then?

if her mom lives with her and is a drunk and hits her she needs to grab her mom and look her in the and tell her, if you hit me again i will ram foot in your a.ss and kick your butt out.

Hitting your mother is not acceptable. What couldn't she take anymore? If she's still living with mom, then its time to move out. She needs to apologize to her mother, because barring self defense on her part, this is not cool.
Addendum: Direct your friend to Al-anon, perhaps go with her. She needs to get out of this co-dependent destructive relationship. She needs to leave her mother. As harsh as that sounds it the only thing she can do. She is 24 years old and its time she started her own life. Her mother will survive. Trust me, they always do. I'm glad she can't take it anymore. Its the first symptom of an eminent recovery. Good luck to you both.

You should never hit your mom however their are some exceptions what was the fight about? and was the mom a very abusive parent all her life? need more detail in order to give an answer or is your friend a spoiled rotten brat who just wasn't getting her way?

absolute disrespect. unless you are totally getting your *** beat you should never hit your parents. and even then you shouldn't strike back just defend yourself. at 24 she should be adult enough to know that striking another person just because your arguing is not acceptable. nobody has the right to harm another person. tell her to grow the f*** up. if she cant argue with somebody without hitting then walk away,take yourself out of the situation

They could both throw the other in jail. Both adults now. I can't beleive that.......you should never hit your mom. My mom hit me after my mission, I was 26 yrs old. I didnt hit her back. I should have thrown her in jail.
I hate abuse. You should never hit your mother.....no matter what.

i did it to my mom yes i admit it im not proud of myself not at all but i was tryin to walk away from the situation we were in but she kept proddin and pokin me in my face and sayin i should have never been born and this was all over me sayin to het to stop tellin everyone about the mistakes i done wen i was younger and found it wrong to tell everyone.then she was goin to far so i pulled her hair and hit her i shouldnt have but i did.we never spoke 4 6 months i did eventually apologise but explianed that she was wrong for what she did.nower days we dont spend as much time together all i can say is i no mothers are hard espesially wen they wont get out of your face i dont regert wot i done but i wouldnt get in to that situation if you dont wanna talk to ur mum again then dont but find it in your heart to say sorry even tough you might think she deserved it or woteva but whatever pushed you to it explian it to her and tell her you love her but she dont need to be in your face thats all i can say cuz u neva said wot she coulndt tk n e more of good luck. as you have put more detail my mother to drinks a hell of a lot and smokes weed.she should tell her mum she needs to go she is an adult and you have got your own life now it might be daunting to tell her to go but try and find the strength to go if it came to it get the police involved.after all her childhood of been beatin just like me no one can tk that she has gt problems and takin them out on her which is totally unfair i DO NOT think she was wrong none whatso eva tell her to tell her mum to get out cuz she is 24 not a kid and she has the right to open her mouth good luck darlin iv been there so i totally no how she feels

my mum hit me for years and it took for me to hit her back one day too stop her. she hasent hit me since!
