"Go to hell!" "All *name group* are going to hell" "They are going to hell" "he is going to hell" "she is going to hell" "you are hell bound" "You won't be laughing-in hell"
These statements and statement similar should be disturbing giving the many descriptions of a place called "hell".
Some Christians say these things out of spite it seems.
But I have heard a statements similar to this:
"I tell you this out of love. I am just trying to help. I don't want to be separated from you after I die because I love you. I don't want you to get hurt."

So what are your thought on this? Even though someone might just br trying to help,do you still think that saying things like the first statements I mentioned is disrespectful? Is it really out of spite,or out of love?

It is arrogance born of ignorance, no more no less.

Every soul is precious to the creator.

Contrary to popular belief God is smart enough to have a plan for the salvation of each and every one of us that is going to work 100 percent of the time.

Any other idea is a simple lack of faith.

Answer this...

Do you prefer a beautiful lie, or the ugly truth?

The ugly truth is that all non-Christians will spend their eternity in the Lake of Fire, which is NOT 'hell'. For hell itself will be cast into the Lake of Fire.

Now, God gave everyone a way to avoid that ugly truth, by coming in the flesh as Jesus, and shedding His blood to cover our sins IF we accept Him as Lord and Savior, and take up our cross and follow Him.

Faith without works is dead.

People who tell you that are judging that they are good, and you are bad. God will Judge those people with a lot heavier Judgment, because only God determines who goes where. Is a friend really a friend, that puts themselves on a pedistal, and you way beneath them? Are they being supportive?
Remember in Genesis when God says : Who told you that you were naked? Were they eating from the tree of the knowlege of good and bad? How do they know that you are going to hell, it could be them.

I will agree that many Christians seem a little put off by some questions and the only response they can muster is your going to burn in hell.
But it should also be understood that one that firmly believes in the Bible and all it's teachings is, in their mind and in their heart, trying to help those that don't believe.
In truth, sometimes they would be better off to worry about themselves and leave others to GOD and the Holy Spirit.

FIRST: This is what The Word says!

(Hebrews 10:28-to-31) He who despised Moses' Law died without mercy on the word of two or three witnesses.

(Heb 10:29) Of how much worse punishment, do you suppose, will he be thought worthy of punishment, the one who has trampled the Son of God, and who has counted the blood of the covenant with which he was sanctified an unholy thing, and has insulted the Spirit of grace?

(Heb 10:30) For we know Him who has said, "Vengeance belongs to Me, I will repay, says the Lord." And again, "The Lord shall judge His people."

(Heb 10:31) It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God.

HELL WAS FOR THE DEVIL AND HIS ANGLES AS STATED HERE!

(Matthew 25:41) Then He also shall say to those on the left hand, Depart from Me, = = you cursed,= = into everlasting fire = = prepared for the Devil and his angels.

MANKIND chooses Hell and the Lake of FIRE, Because they Reject the Blood of CHRIST to pay for = = their sins!

Thanks, RR

You are going to hell, along with everybody else, including Christians. All go to hell at death. The original Hebrew word was Sheol and the Greek word was Hades, properly translated they mean: the grave or a pit.Another word also translated as hell was Gehenna(Greek),this is an actual place now known as the Hinnom Valley in Jerusalem. This is a place that always had a fire and they burnt trash, animal carcasses, and live babies were sacrificed to molech the great owl god. Look at a map its on there. In Psalm 16:10, & 49:15 David knew he was going to hell (grave) and would be resurected from it.Many of the older Bibles such as Geneva properly translated these words as grave or pit. It is impossible to have three totally different words and translate them all as hell. In the 1600's when the KJV Bible was made ,the meaning of the word hell was to put in the ground so when they changed the wording to hell they understood what it meant. If you look up Gehenna in Websters dictionary today you will see it tells you the same thing I said. Apparently its to difficult for most Christians to actually look up the meaning of a word, they prefer to listen to the lies that their preacher spews from the pulpit. My God will put you in hell when you die,the grave, and regardless of your beliefs or how you lived you will be resurected for judgement. To receive eternal life you must know Christ as saviour, if not you will be thrown into the lake of fire Rev. 20:14,this is the second death, where people are consumed instantly and permanently. No eternal suffering and torment. The Lake of Fire is different from Hell. I am a Christian and I think its a shame that churches use these kind of scare tactics to keep people in church.

It is improper to tell people the sayings you are referring to even if they believe in a burning hell. People should come to Christ out of their love for Him and repentance of sins, not out of fear of burning torment. It is a scare tactic that goes back to the dys of Greek-Roman mythology and churches have found it to work. I believe that most Christians want the people that laugh at them or disagree with them to burn in hell. If my beliefs are right then many Church goers will be disapointed. On second thought they should be glad for most church goers are not true Christians.

I just wish I could counter the theists by saying they were going to suffer enormously after they die for being wrong - however, as an atheist, I can't!

I wonder if any theists could be enlightened by simply thinking what are the spiritual and emotional benefits in believing that there is nobody up there looking out for us and caring about us. You shouldn't reject unpleasant truths.

"And anyone whose name was not found recorded in the book of life was thrown into the lake of fire" A Christian who dies will meet God and live with him forever. A person who is not a Christian will be condemned to eternal punishment...Love in Christ..Josie

No.

I yell at my 2 year old daughter when she is doing something that will endanger her...("STOP! Don't put your bologia in the light socket!!!" is a personal favorite).

I put your statment in the same category.

But just because it is intended in love and not meant to be disrespectful does not mean it will be taken that way. Sometimes the truth hurts and people get angry.

I feel the exact same way when it comes to my mother, I feel horrible knowing she will be going to that "hell" known as heaven, where I won't be able to see her. But our greatest gift is free will, so I can't make her refrain from worshiping God, anymore than you can make me worship him.
