yes, i feel open relationships work. i mean, sometimes you just accept the fact that all you have between a person is a physical connection. its rare, but if the female feels the same when then i think it could work. the only problem is that over time feelings for that person may arise. and once that happens you either end the relationship or you make it exclusive. it all depends on how strong the feelings initially are and whether the person you're dealing with has insecurity issues. to be in an open relationship you have to be very secure in yourself.

i'm not sure if your asking if I could do it, or if its practical to anyone, but I think it happens and theres plenty of people involved in these types of relationships, I also think they have no idea what there doing or what they want for the most part there are some adults who chose to do this and have a grip on it but i'd say not to many. Anyways I also think this type of attitude twords relationships and sex is the major reason for the downfall in american culture and values and common sense & education of the youngins. It really is a bad example and become way to casual and acceptable. There truly are a lot of negative results that come from this behavior and not only are they negative but costly I guess my point is that is just should be avoided at all costs, now I know everyone is going to experiement with this at some point and thats life but to make it your routine so to speak is crapy I think, but what do I know, Kim

No No No!! Why? Because that is not the morals and values I hold and because there is to many diseases and lets face it most people do not use protection despite all the open information in the world about what can happen if protection isn't used,
I also couldn't do this because being in love and committing yourself to someone does not include sharing that person.

No - "open" relationships have been demonstrated time and again that they don't work at least for very long. Usually people who want an open realationship actually want to have the thrills of new partners and the security of the old partner. Almost always one partner gets jealous and the relationship breaks up....

Yep in one now and it is nice because you have someone to lean on and to care for, but you also have the freedom to see others as you want. But the thing i like most is the honesty in it. We are both truthful in what we want from each other. And besides he would rather both of us be involved in things together as a team rather than on our own. But if he did want to be with another woman I would be OK with it because i know that he is coming home to me and that he wants her to do something that maybe i am not into or he has a fantasy about her that i cant fulfill because it is not about me.

the whole I'm not jealous, I'm very open minded is a bunch of hooey! Take pologamists for instance. Those wives are jealous as hell of the other wives. Its human nature. People are disgusting that view this as normal and are kidding themselves too if they think it won't cause problems..

Both people in an open relationship have to be extremely secure in their relationship with each other for it to work.

I personaly could not. I could do the casual thing but to be in a "relationship" and not be exclusive would not fly with me.

I wouldn't feel comfortable knowing my boyfriend is dating someone else besides me. I guess I am possessive and don't want to share him with anyone.
