REAL Christians belive that all other Christians are their brothers and sisters. So, your God (Jehova) does NOT have a problem with interracial relationships - He DOES have a problem with Christians having relationships with non-Christians ("unevenly yoked"), but if both partners are Christian, He's cool with it.
God never had a problem with interracial relationships between Christians - He was cool with it in 2007, and in 1967, and in 1867, and in 70AD.
It was the laws of Man (and specifically the "Antimisigination Laws" of the men of Mississippi, Alabama, Georgia, Florida, California, Virginia, Indiana, Kentucky, Missouri, Texas, South Carolina, North Carolina and Colorado) that prohibited interracial marriages.
Even then, there were plenty of interracial relationships, the partners just couldn't get married (or had to go to other states to sanctifiy their relationships)
And, in 1969, the Supreme Court, in the case of Loving v Virginia, overturned every antimisegination law in the US - thus putting the laws of man in this country on the same page with the laws of God, which had ALWAYS allowed interracial relationships!
What "church" did your parents go to, The Church of Jesus Christ Christian or some other White supremacist "Christian identity" neo-nazi sect?
It sounds like it - they're the only ones that feel that their God is a racialist bigot.
And, I hate to say this about your parents, so please don't feel insulted, but your parents are racialists, and they're trying to hide their bigotry behind God and Jesus Christ.
God doesn't have a problem with interracial relationships - and if your parents don't agree with Him, THEY are the ones who have to worry about going to hell, and facing His judgement for failing to love ALL of His children!

!Well Hallelujah !Honey I am so Happy to meet you. I know this is a very awkward problem. My Husband is from T.N I'm an Aussie. His family was raised like yours. When you add the Southern Baptist in there too. Well you get a whole lot of racist vindictiveness etc. He grew up and saw how barbaric and negative that way of thinking is. I must say some Negroes are just as racist concerning Whites. You may have come across that too.But there are also some very nice people who don't think that way. Like Yourself and your friends. Please stand up for your beliefs because you are right. Let your family know that we're all the same in Gods eyes. We just wear a different all weather cover (our skin to suit the climate we originated from. It's very hot and dry in Africa hence the dark skin and curly hair it protects them from sunburn, holds in moisture and stops them from getting heat stroke.
Yes their Teachings do go against Gods wishes. Jesus his Son accepted all people as individuals and appreciated them for themselves. Even the lepers.
They were taught a certain way and they think they are saving you, so don't throw it in their faces.Just let them know that you are an individual with your own beliefs you respect and love them but don't share theirs.
No you aren't disrespecting your Parents. Actually you are doing just what you should be doing. They should be proud of you. You are being a free thinking loving independent woman, who judges people by their character not their skin colour. They may come around slowly when they realize there are other choices but be patient and love them .
Yes the world is changing and in a few years we'll be citizens of the world not just members of a country and the barriers and racism will be in the past.It starts with loving people like you. Yes you can make a difference .Good luck.I feel you are going to accomplish a lot of good in your life. One day we will meet too. Ciao

When i was 16 until 19 i have a girlfriend, I'm white but shes black, my parents hated it. But veiw it this way, God put us all on this earth equally, so does he not want us to get along and be one whole worl, no matter what? Were all the same, no matter what, some people have blonde hair, some have black skin, it doesnt matter, I let them meet my girlfriend and her parents made us dinner and after that they were fine.

show them the scripture that backs up that blacks and whites shouldn't mix and when you can't find it ask them where did they get that info from b/c if they are Christians and live for God and that's not found in His word shouldn't you go by what His word says vs what they say especially since they can't back it up...you're not going to hell for not believing in hate

They may have the wrong reason BUT, have you even thought how any kids will feel about having been brought into this world as, unfortunately, second hand citizen? Or do the kids not count? (very selfish).
I know a blond, white mother whose beautiful, but African-American 16 year old daughter gave a her a dressing down for having her be non white.
Nobody thinks of the offspring, which is a type of selfishness that boggles my mind! The children have to choice.
I have wondered whether that is where the 'children being burdened by the sins of their fathers' comes from...

You're not disrespecting them if they choose to be ignorant. Help your siblings out by pointing the flaws in your parents views. GL

You don't have any explaining to do. Your parents will not change what they were taught.

If your parents are deeply involved with their beliefs...they will not change, they are probably living like that for many years....you just cant let it influence you!

You need to respect their beliefs, even if you don't share them or agree with them. It is a generational thing and they are unlikely to change their beliefs. You have grown up in a more ethnically diverse society than they did.
