I got rid of them and bought brand new ones but now its doing the same thing so obviously I know its not the speakers, its my computer. Is this fixable and if so, what do I do?

The amplifier channel output is failing, usually because of a blown IC if it is an old system. When the IC heats up, it ails, then it cools down and will work again. If you spray each one with a cold air can, when the system isn't working, you can tell which component is at fault, because the system will start working as soon as the spray cools it down.

I bet that it is you sound card. Look at the second article. You can buy a simple sound card for under 50.00.
