Believe it or not , it makes a surprisingly good hand cleaner to use after you've been working on your car. You still have to wash it of with a lot of soap but it will get engine type grease out.

Well the best use is to save it and put it in a diesel engine. They run fine off cooking grease. Other wise, pet food is a good use for it.

I wait for the grease to be totally cooled off, then I wipe it out with a paper towel and put into the trash. This way my sink don't get clogged up.

Throw it out! Whatever you do...do not reuse it. It is very very unhealthy for you. Even a healthy olive/canola oil will change chemically when heated at extremely high temperatures (such as temp. used for deep frying ) to form a saturated oil. Saturated oil is what clogs your arteries. Bacon fat is even worse! My grandfather use to spread the lard that forms on the pan on bread!!! He liked the flavour of it. Gross. Needless to say, he died quite young. With Bacon fat, when it's still hot, pour it into a used soup can, wait for it to harden, then throw it out. The reason you do this is to avoid clogging your kitchen pipes (the bacon fat will harden as it cools down in the pipes) by pouring the oil down the drain. So if this stuff clogs up your kitchen pipes like no tomorrow...can you imagine what it does to your arteries? Yikes.

You can save bacon grease and use it later for fried eggs. Otherwise wait until it cools and put it in the garbage. Don't put it in the sink.
