Plum Sour Cream Tart

1 1/2 cups walnuts
2 Tbsp sugar
1/3 cup unsalted butter
8 oz almond paster
1/2 cup sour cream
2 eggs
8 plums
2 Tbsp arrowroot (or cornstarch)
1/2 cup orange juice
1 lemon, juice and zest
1/2 cup Cointreau

Process walnuts, butter and 2 Tbsp sugar in food processor until they are finely chopped and a ball forms. Chill about an hour. Press into a 9 inch springform pan covering the bottom and coming up about 1 inch up the sides. Process the almond paste, eggs and sour cream until smooth. Check for sweetness. If it is
too tart, add a little sugar. (I generally add about 1/8 cup. It should be tart but not too sour.) Turn into the tart shell.. Bake in a 350 F oven until firm to
the touch - about 30 minutes. Cool. Cut the plums into very thin slices. It
looks very pretty if you can get plums in different colors. Place the plums in overlapping slices in pretty swirls. Combine the arrowroot with the orange juice, lemon juice and zest and Cointreau. Heat to thicken. While glaze in warm, spoon aver the plum slices.

I love the "Better-than-Sex" cake. It's a delicious caramel and chocolate concoction. Google the name for a dozen recipes.

I also always used boxed brownie mix and add things like York Peppermint Patties just under the surface before baking or toffee chips, etc. It's easy and unique.

I don't understand the big deal about not giving you a recipe to use?

Here's a couple of recipes....

HEAVENLY HASH CAKE:
1 (12oz.) pkg. chocolate semi-sweet chocolate chips
4 eggs (separate)
2 teaspoons sugar
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 pint whipping cream
1 cup pecans or walnuts, chopped (I use walnuts)
1 Angel Food Cake
Melt chocolate chips. In a small bowl, beat egg yolks and add to chocolate. Stir. Beat egg whites; gradually adding sugar until peaks form. Fold whites into chocolate mixture. Stir in nuts, vanilla and salt. Whip the cream and fold in last. Break cake into chunks and cover bottom of tube pan or deep bowl. Cover with a layer of chocolate mixture. Add another layer of cake pieces and cover with remaining chocolate mixture. Chill in refrigerator overnight.
==================================
For the recipe below, if you don't care for the pudding flavor; substitute it with Chocolate or Banana or something you like...dress it up the top with chopped nuts or chocolate shavings; something decorative.

PISTACHIO DREAM CAKE: (4 Layers)
1 1/2 cups flour
1 stick margarine, melted
1/2 cup walnuts, finely chopped
1 (8 oz.) cream cheese, softened
1 cup confectioners sugar
1 (8 oz.) Cool Whip, thawed
2 (4-oz.) packages Instant Pistachio Pudding
3 cups milk
In a small bowl; combine flour, margarine and walnuts. Spread evenly into a greased 9x13 baking pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 15 minutes and set aside to cool.
In a medium bowl; combine cream cheese, confectioners sugar and 5 Tablespoons of Cool Whip. Pour this mixture over the cooled crust layer and let set for 15 minutes.
In a large bowl, combine pistachio pudding and milk; stirring until thickened. Pour pudding mixture over cream cheese layer and chill for 15 minutes. Top off the final layer with the remaining container of Cool Whip. Refrigerate. Serve.

If you are going to take credit for someone elses recipe you might as well go ahead and steal one out of a cook book.

Try Fannie Farmer. One of the classics.

Sheesh!
