Good question...
when you have a close look into the first book of the bible, it says "And God called the firmament Heaven. So the evening and the morning were the second day." (Gen 1:8).
So in order to say the there were morning and night, He would have had to create the solar system with orbiting planets and moons to generate such effects on earth...so although at the time Moses had written this book, He did not see or know 'planets' as such, but he knew there was something in the firmament, otherwise He would not have had no concept of days and nights.
I hope this helps. God bless.

God created everything, including all the stars, moons, and planets.
Is YOUR username in the Bible? If not, do YOU really exist?
