Marines, hands down. We are the best fighting force known to man. Don't you know what army means...Aint Ready to be a Marine Yet. Marines are swiftly deployed and can fight on a moments notice...army takes months to build up it's fighting force. Many Marine infantry units are SOC or special operations capable. Semper Fi

This really depends on your mentality and what you want to do. I have had friends and family who served in Infantry in both branches and I was in the Army. Go Marine Corps if you like the Marine Corps because that is the only real benefit to being a Marine. If you want to go to Airborne school or rappell out of helicopters, or go to Ranger school then you need to be in the Army. I've never met a Marine who could just walk up to his command and go to Airborne school without a problem. Both have sniper school. The Army normally has newer and better equipment too. Plus Army Infantry is excellent prep for SF.

I worked with a lot of Marines in Kuwait and most of them did not view it like the Army did as a career with school potential. Most of them wanted to either get out or get out and go in the Air Force. At least in the Army the Infantry guys I knew wanted more schools down the line. Plus making rank in the Army is much easier now that there is a war going on.

If youre going infantry either will do, just as long as you avoid the Navy and Air Force. Personally I would go Army Infantry and I did for 5 1/2 yrs.

I will say Marines, as that is the branch I served with.

And, for the answer concerning the Navy and travel. I was in the Corps for four years, spent a year on ship, and visitied 14 countries during that time.

The army also has many bases in Europe that you can get stationed at.

The average Marine (regardless of MOS) has better infantry skills than the Average Army Infantry soldier. Army training is a joke. I have been through Army Infantry training and USMC boot camp, SOI, etc. and there is no comparision. All the army does is teach you how to stuff your trousers into your boots and sing like little girls.

It depends a lot on what you want to do in the infantry. If you are to be a rifleman, I would join the Marines. If you want to do another task, check out what the Army has within the infantry.

Marine Corps - they are our elite.
No offense to any other branch - except the Air Force should sharpen up their uniforms, don't you think?

No offense to the Air Force meant - just a bit of off-beat humor. My Dad was in what was then the Army Air Corps, ergo, I have GREAT respect for them - and ALL members of any branch of our armed services.

As a MARINE infantry vet, the Marines give you more and harder training.
The better you train the better your chances of survival.
