Not always from the front, but as others have pointed out, always on the left, or from the rear of the airplane if the one you're on is equipped with airstairs (Boeing 727, for example).

Way back in the early days of commercial air travel, the aircraft manufacturers standardized the layout of airliners so that the passengers board and exit on the left side, while all the servicing and cargo loading is done on the right. There are doors on the right hand side of the cabin on all but the smallest airliners, which are for servicing the galleys--restocking the soda, snacks, etc. (at least on airlines that still offer a minimal amount of cabin service). The cargo doors are also on the right side, and (almost without exception) the lavatory and potable water service points are also on the right. The fueling panel and the hose connections are also on the right.

This was done so that the passengers wouldn't be dodging the ground handling staff as they're getting the airplane ready for its next flight.

The cabin doors on the right side are set up as emergency exits, though, so in case of an accident or fire you can go out of the airplane on that side.

Most of the time if a jetway is used. At Frankfurt, when the aircraft is parked away from the terminal, both front and rear exits are used to load the buses.

Not always the front.. But yes always the left side..In some airports they use the front door for first and business class passengers and the next one for economy class passengers that's in the case if they have that facility available..

No, because I've exited from a rear exit before.
