It really is simple. Increase your intake of calories so that you are putting more into your body than you are burning in the gym. Meanwhile, keep your protein intake high from either food or whey protein supplements. A balanced diet including everything from good fats (nuts/avocardo's etc.) to carbs etc.

Stick to this diet whilst working hard in the gym will not fail to increase your muscle mass!

The main issue with muscle loss would be if you did a lot of cardio workout. I'd suggest this is important if you want to do weights anyway. After a session, have a sugary drink (Lucozade or something) which will help substitute the energy used and stop muscle being broken down.

Protein VERY important. I'd suggest eating a decent portion of lean meat twice a day. Be careful with processed meat or cheap cuts because they'll have more fat in, but meat is the easiest way to get protein - unless you try protein shakes. That could work too.

Best of luck :D

Also when lifting , go with a higher set of reps instead of low heavy weights. higher reps will give your more definition and endurance and keep your metabalism way up.
