Why do most conservatives make a huge issue about homosexuals getting married? Don't we, as a nation, have plenty of other more pressing matters (Iraq, education, environment) to worry about? Why do conservative politicians and their electorates get behind these ridiculous policies? I am looking for a real answer, not just trying to ridicule the neocons... thanks

There are people in this word arrogant enough to think that when they open their mouths, what comes out is 'God's word'. Because they themselves are homophobic, they'd like their god to be too.

Yet they call me 'blasphemous' for not believing.

If a man says God hates anyone he doesnt know God.Some seek to change laws to suit their idea of morality..which is understandable in the way a man thinks. Many feel that this issue is important to somehow making the world a righteous place which it will not be until the return of Christ. There is no real answer some people wish to push their idea of righteousness and some don't it is not all Christians who seek to change laws to legislate morality and those who seek God know he is allowing us this time of grace and free will to make our choices and that these choices can not be legislated. The law of God never was enforced completely as man has always sinned and legislation of the law did not bring us a perfect society Perfection will not come until the end and it is scriptural. Many feel they have some duty to God to make this world wholesome for him through legislation but their attempts are vain. The answer to all the problems of this world are found in Jesus and only in Jesus. Some do not understand that the law is not the answer never was it is righteous and good but it can only condemn and can not save. If Christ himself taught he is the only way to the Father and he is. More Christians should accept this truth. This world is sinful and can only be changed through the hearts of those who accept the atonement not through man's legislation.

alright here goes: Gods plan for marriage was specific; For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his WIFE, and they will become one flesh. Gen 2:24, Matt 19:5, Mark 10:7, and ephesians 5:31. that it is repeated over and over like this should be a clue to Gods Plan for marriage.

Homosexuality is an abomination to God, (this means it is so vile to God that it causes a reflex to vomit).

It is this knowledge of God, and the fact that homosexual offenders are pressing so hard for this legislation to be passed that keeps it in the forefront of legislation. It is not a hatred of homosexual offenders, but rather a fear of God that cause conservatives to make a huge issue about gay marriage.

You answer lies in the fact that there is a contradiction in your question.

If God loves all of His children unconditionally, he does not hate gays.
If God hates gays, He does not love all of His children unconditionally.

Yes, we have LOTS more pressing issues other than gay marriage. The conservatives bring this up over and over in an attempt to get others conservatives out for the vote. if you noticed, it did not work last year.

God loves anybody and he will love you once you receive your only reward of hell, in case you opt for to stay with homosexuality fairly of Christ. God did not make you gay and that's YOU who chooses to have gay sex and fornicate. in case you imagine God created gays then you honestly do not recognize God and also you're lost in devil's information superhighway. God did not create the acts of Jeffrey Daumer both, a gay pedophile who devour people. that's humorous that a gay guy, Chris, accuses God of genocide, yet he does no longer position self belief in God. The author can under no circumstances be accused of genocide. Little Chris is comfortable with a mom killing her unborn, yet when Chris follows a customary gay course and receives AIDS it is also ok. yet, God, the author isn't meant to judge and condemn you because you're Hitler. Now, the collective gay brigade will say, nicely Hitler it truly is different he killed thousands and thousands of people. So, brigade, who're you to judge and are available to a decision what God could do. A genocidal hateful God who hates gays would strike down all gays as we communicate, holding them the spawns of devil. yet, yet you breathe the breath of existence that in trouble-free words comes from God. i'd imagine that an honorable atheist would provide God back His breath of existence and wait on eternal death.

God does not hate period, much less homosexuals. God is love. God is not responsive to sin and he has declared in his word that homosexual behavior is disobedience to his Creation. God created man and woman as heterosexual creatures, that marriage should be between a man and a woman, that the two should become one flesh. The man brings unique characteristics to the marriage and so does the woman, and in this way they become a union that is unbreakable. This is clearly explained in the book of Genesis. God also condemns fornication, which is sex outside of marriage; so, don't think that heterosexuals are getting away with anything. Their sin needs to be resolved also. God loves all of his creation and desires that everyone come to his glory, but it has to be on his terms, not ours. I have no more right to sin than you do. God is no respecter of persons, meaning that he will not set aside his rules of obedience for anyone, no matter who they are. A minister has no more privileges than a lay person. We all need Jesus. Politicians do what they do to get re-elected and to keep themselves in the public eye. they are all hypocrites.

God does not hate gays. I am not very religious and I know that. What God thinks and what someone says God thinks can be two different things. In the Bible it says that marriage is for a man and a woman, that is where I the problem comes in. I personally agree with you that there are more important things to worry about in our society and whoever wants to get married should be able to get married.

>>If God loves all of his children unconditionally, why does he hate gays?<<

God does not hate PEOPLE who are same-sex attracted. He hates SIN, and there are four sins that really tick Him off; sins that cry out to Heaven for vengeance:

1) Homicide (Genesis 4:10)
2) Sodomy (Genesis 18:20-21)
3) Oppression of Widows and Orphans (Exodus 21-23)
4) Cheating Laborers of Their Due (Deuteronomy 24:14-15)

He doesn't hate the gays, He hates what they are doing! He still loves them yet, He allows them to choose, He hates what they are choosing, just as with any sin, He hates the fact that we choose sin over doing right. God cant let any sin into heaven, righteousness and evil do not coexists. remember though, sin can be forgiven if one chooses to ask, repent of it and go from it.

because they are ignorant. Maybe Jesus Christ really wanted to be gay, but because of the strictness of the religion, could not really express what he wanted in life (as happens with so many Christians today). That's why they are so uptight and concerned about stupidity that they judge people all the time, when the religion is supposed to preach love and understanding and acceptance????? I don't get it either.
