But despite that fact, it will probably be removed again.
The question is simple;
Christians claim that god heals the sick and infirmed. In fact, they have specialists that lay their hands on people and cure them of their ills and damage. They are called faith healers. They make millions of dollars a year.
Yet, not one single one of these faith healers, or god himself for example, has EVER healed an amputee.
Cancer, diabetes, paraplegics, are no problem to heal for them, but if someone comes to them with so much as a missing fingertip, they're stumped.
Why is that? Does god simply hate amputees?
So, let's have your answers, as long as they don't include the inane argument "but amputees aren't sick" since quad and parapligics aren't sick either.
And I fully expect this question to be removed too. But for those of you who do so, ask yourselves why you feel the need to do so. Is your faith so flimsy that you'd rather remove the question rather than answer it? Pretty cowardly...

Wayne,
go ahead and find one, a REAL one mind you, not the usual christian made-up crap though.
Pious fraud may be a typical christian tactic, but it's still fraud.

Chef bob,
LOL thanks for showing us, yet again, that christianity is a refuge for hypocracy.
You claim that some christians aren't christians, and only the ones that follow your brand are the true(tm) christians?
Wow, way to be an exclusivist as s there buddy. Is it any wonder the Nazi party was founded on christian ideal and morals? No wonder at all.

Frankly I think they should be thrown in jail for fraud and their assets seized. Any self respecting, secular, moral government would have to do that.
Their ill-gotten funds should be donated to genuine medical research groups.

I think folks fail to understand what "Religion and Spirituality" actually mean.
Religion does not = God. Religion can be anything. I can take this Mountain Dew bottle in front of me and and create a religion about it. Code, cultus, creed, and community regarding this bottle will give me the religion of The Dew.
Spirituality also does not = God. There are those that can choose it to be so, but it's not a given.
If yahoo wants nothing but questions in this category that support Christianity, then they need to change the title. With that said, there is no reason or basis to remove your question. You have a valid question there, and it being removed is but a sad testament to the insecurities and close-mindedness of some lesser beings.
Anyway, Occam's Razor answers your question nicely. But are you really here for a logical answer, or do you just want to test the mental capacity of those less fortunate in the brains department that you assume reside here?
The religious concept behind faith-healings is bogus. No one has ever been healed simply because it was "God's" will. There are cases, both religiously oriented and secular, of certain illnesses going into remission - but they all have logical explanations. Treatment worked, fluke of nature, power of the mind, etc.
What you should really be asking is, how come "God" or these frauds can't heal AIDS? Flesh-eating disease? Schizophrenia? Tourettes? Herpes? Alzheimer's?

ah, professor of theology, you confuse pseudo-christians with REAL Christians.
not all who claim to be christians are TRUE Christians. I could give you many examples.
Jehovah's Witnesses is just one.
God does heal the sick and the infirm but He
does not need help from a so-called faith healer.
It is usually done in answer to simple prayer.
No, I don't remember God healing an amputee in the Bible, true. But, for a God who has raised humans from the dead, that would not be very difficult. He did cause the blind to see also.
God has His reasons.
you must remember, God will not always take away a lousy situation but will, most often, help us through them.
I would wager there are many, many amputees that have felt the presence of God while going through their difficulties and do not hold any anger or hatred of God because of their condition, inspite of the fact that they had absolutely no personal relationship with God prior to the fact.

The power to heal by faith is the power of the mind over body. This has been well proved. Our minds have great power over our body. People can heal them selves by prayer, or just believing that they are fine. It is the same thing and 'god' has nothing to do with either.
But limbs cannot grow back on humans. This is impossible. No amount of faith, or laughter, or good thoughts can make this happen.
And as a second note. There are very few in the religion that believe that faith can heal. The vast majority of Christians get their *** to a hospital and doctor if they are sick.

There is not a shred of documented proof that faith healers have healed anyone of any medical malady. A person's own psychological belief in this practice might help to alleviate some symptoms (a sub-conscious, mind-over-matter practice), though usually only temporarily. It has been shown that a positive mental state can give a patient a better outcome. There is no way, however, that our brains can help us to grow back missing limbs. Our physiology does not allow this.

As a Christian Pastor I understand the laying on of hands in healing.
But, faith healers cure no one. Only God heals.
As far as amputees, I wish I could answer your question but the only thing I can offer is I don't know why GOD allows some of the things HE allows.

They can only "heal" things that tend to heal themselves anyway. That's because they aren't really healing anybody. They are attributing random act to a god, or performing tricks to convince people that a god did something.
At college, there was a group that preached in public a lot. One day, they had chairs all over the place. One guy had me sit in a chair, then proceeded to show me that my legs were different lengths. Then he prayed to God, then showed how my legs miraculously became the same length. I talked with the guy for a while explaining that this was a really lame trick and that God doesn't exist. Eventually, one of his buddies came over. I explained to the buddy that this was just a trick. So the buddy, showed me how my legs were different lengths, prayed to God, then showed me they were the same lengths, again! (Neither realized the contradiction in this)

Indirectly he did provide for this at least to a degree. Dr. John R Christoper, the well known "father of modern herbology" tells of two case histories in his book of people growing back fingers ripped off to the 2nd knuckles complete with fingernails. His own nephew had had the car door fly open and the mom grab him as he flew out the door dragging his hand on the ground and tearing all the fingers to the first and 2nd knuckles, They all grew back. He used his bone, flesh, and cartiledge formula for this.
Also dr Schulze, his student, tells of a man entire knee gone essentially through a car wreck and an herbal treatment he used on it gluing his knee back on and healing it. A nurse present at the hospital he was using was stunned saying she would never imagine you could save somthing damaged so badly as the knee was like that.
These formulas used the plants and herbs the faithful believe God made plants full of chemicals that 10s of thousands of studies show have the ability to cure and prevent diseases and injuries of all types...even in the Bible it says "I give you plants for your food and herbs for your medicine..so God heals people everyday through the powerful effect of foods, plants, herbs, air, water,.sunshine, etc. even the colors and smells are thought to have healing proerties.

God loves us all. The sickness was brought by the devil and the idea of healing came only truely through Jesus Christ....He healed the sick and raised the dead...and showed man how with faith in Him you can be healed. I am sick too and I believe God cares about me enough to give me a second chance. If amputee or even is blindness included. I still believe God will bless me to get around and enjoy life what ever it is to enjoy by whatever means I have left to enjoy it... You never know what happenes accidents to just getting hit by illness. Nothing is promised in life to give you perfect health. I love you and your question and I hate someone did not try to answer you or knocked your question off the boards. I feel God works through illness to show us things we need to get prepared for faith and where he wants us in the afterlife O the reward for going through sickness and keeping the faith right on right through it.
Healing can come to the doctors medical minds and hands to let us bear to suffering or to take away pain by the meds and treatments. I try to pray to prepare for my pain and suffering due in the old age of life. You need to move and do good deeds in life and prepare to make a cusion when you are old and unable to get around by the work you did in your youth or work you did to visit the sick and pray for them. You may be in their position and they do not want to be in their position...Think and Pray Daily Trust God He knows just how much you can bear and if you go through a illness or a loss He will require you to use it to serve him even better in the new area. I look at my illness like getting out of a good gang and going to a less mobile gang and yet taking all the goodness to make the less mobile gang move even better. I do not look forward to the loss but if it happens I wave the flag for God either way in the good and the bad.
God is good awsome and does things for a reason
We do not understand what the reason is but it comes right on time.

It sounds like you are a bitter amputee, but that aside let me say that I have never seen the works of what you call a "Faith Healer". God promises to be with you so you are never alone he didnt promise to heal all you ailments. He never promised life would be easy only that he would be with you. Let me point you to the readings of Job.

Because prayer doesn't really work at all. Here is a NY Times story about the biggest study: http://www.nytimes.com/2006/03/31/health/31pray.html?ex=1301461200&en=4acf338be4900000&ei=5088&partner=rssnyt&emc=rss
You were actually slightly better in the control group. I am sure it is just a statistical anomaly, but it is interesting that in this large group, you had better luck if you were NOT prayed for.
