The biggest stupid assumption men make as relates to women is that she is out of their league. It's self-fulfilling prophecy. If a man sees a woman and immediately writes her off as being too good for him, he's already lost her. Damn. Seen too many guys approach life with this loser logic.
I mean this in a general way.

The fact that they think that all women are out to take all their hard earned possessions. There ARE self supporting women out here that understand the value of working hard AND may have a thing or two themselves. : )
