I want a design of Laboratory scale Anaerobic digester (UASB or Upflow plastic media type)?

I want to try degradation of activated sludge by anaerobic digestion. May I know about the digester design, parameters to be monitored for the study and how can I publish my work? References regarding such work if already carried out by some one.......
