Choke chains and harnesses will stop your pup from properly breathing but will not stop her from pulling. Usually dogs will pull harder when they fill pain; because they want to get faster to that park and get rid off that pain. They don't quite realise that the pain will drop if they stop pulling. The best way is to train your dog to walk on lead without pulling. You do not need to rush to the park. You start walking and when the dog pulls on lead you change direction. Just go back for few paces. Once the dog past you and start pulling again, just go back again and keep doing so till the dog give up and let you leading the way. Dogs usually pull on the lead because they want to lead the way. They are borne leaders. This exercise will also teach the dog its place in the family hierarchy. You also can do this exercise when the dog is off lead. Every time when the dog goes to far in front of you; you change direction. This will teach the dog to keep an eye at you at all times and pay attention to your. If you are to lazy to do this exercises, better than harnesses or choke chain is a had collar. It stops the dog from pulling, but do not restrict its breathing. Have funn.

This problem just requires training. When you have your pup on the lead and find her pulling you need to quickly change direction. Do this every time she starts to pull and eventually she will get the message that you and not her control the pace and direction of travel. It might take a while for the message to sink in but stick with it and you will find she becomes a pleasure to take for a walk.Don't worry about her doing herself any damage, she will not choke herself that much. You may find that she coughs for a few minutes afterwards though just make sure she has water to drink and she will be fine.

Use a choker chain this must be put on the correct way or the dog will choke. try it on your wrist when pulled it should go tight when let go it should loosen. this will not harm your dog. start with a short lead and when he pulls you pull him back and be firm in your voice tell him heel. It will not take long he will soon discover that you are in charge not him if he pulls it gets tight if he walks by your side he will be more comfortable. Be strong and try to relax because your tension will go down the lead. A dog is not daft. if it thinks it has the uperhand it will take it.

Everytime your pup starts pulling just stop walking when the pup stops pulling carry on walking do this everytime the pup pulls you may have to do it alot and it is annoying but it works . And if it runs off and won't come back get low to the ground if the dog can't see you it'll soon come running

the best thing to get any dog that pulls is a 'gentle leader, easy walk' halter. they work insanily well. there is no getting used to it time. just fit it and go. all other halters and collars let the dog pull, this one does not. and as for choke or pronged collars, the first might soffocate the dog(long fur) the latter after time will have no effect. the dogs skin will get thinker and the dog will no longer feel it. easy walk halters are at petsmart and petco from $25 to $30

When I was training my dog to walk and heel I kept him on a short lead until he stopped pulling and gradually made it longer - everytime he pulled I would shorten it until after about 6 days he decided he liked the longer lead and stopped pulling - now the kids can hold him and he doesn't pull them over

Just stop walking and ignore the dog for as long as it takes the dog to heel. Then start walking again, if it pulls, just stop again. It takes a little patience but there aren't daft dogs and they soon get the message.

If you want an easy solution buy a harness. I spent months trying to stop my terrier pulling but she is much happier on a harness.
