I f'in hate it when bars crank up the music so loudly that you cant have a decent conversation, especially with the opposite sex. Im sure im going deaf :/ Most would agree that tone of voice can be useful when flirting, as well as to gauge someones interest. But not when your both having to shout, and repeat stuff. Sure, most ppl like loud music to dance too but what about those who wanna chat and flirt without having to cocentrate on hearing each other?? How do ppl feel about this? This seems to be a problem with most bars ive been too in the UK!!

Yeah. This is too true. I love going out and listening to pumping dance music but when I do I go to a proper nightclub. I don't want loud music everywhere I f%cking go.
It's normally charty poppy commercial dance drivel as well. Boycott these places, save your money for a proper night out somewhere decent.

Go to a quiet section of the bar or step outside for a little while or just go to a quieter bar.

Same problem here in the U.S. I am trying to "work my mojo" on the ladies, only to have Eminem, 50 Cent, Ludacris, etc. blaring in her ear. I like going to clubs and hear the music, but come on, just knock down the decibels.

You can get earplugs which filter out the background noise but let you have a conversation.
