I have been through the process and been rejected.
You don't need a visa agent as all the information and forms are available on the austrailian embassy website see down below;
Just read through all the available categories and choose which one suits you. I applied for skilled entry. You will have to get your skills assessed as being equivalent to austrailian skills for the purpose of skilled visa entry and there are centres in the U.K. that you apply to (the applications are also online) this information is also available on the consulate website.
My advice is to you a) that you read through the information which doesnt take long - deciding which route to take and filling in the forms is the least lengthy part compared to waiting for the migration agency in Adelaide to respond (which is longer in comparison to the quick turn around of the skills asssessment centres here.) b) make sure your understand governement requirements because they pretty much stick to it no matter what
If you know the requirments as read per website you will know what you have to do and at what time and whether you stand a good chance of getting your visa in the first place. It is possible
to deduce this and the Austrailian governement therefore help you before you waste your money and their time.
When it comes to finding work unless you have a contact which is more rare than people finding work through their own employers out there and also those people who need an agent to find work you ought to apply for your visa and get it before you go since a you need to be residing in Britain at the time of applying and second most agencies will tell you to have permission to work before you apply for jobs in which case that means you need your visa.
WHY I GOT REJECTED
I knew before I applied that I had enough points and a job category code from the skills assessment centre who advised my occupation for the benefit of applying for migation as they will do. However I also knew that from the work experience requirement which is roughly three years for me exactly prior the date you apply however I had a gap of three months and therefore I was rejected.

This link will take you direct to a site which will give you the definitive answer, if so you can also get further advice in regards to going forward.

G,Day.
This may not be helpful but you can look online under Australian Govt; Visas Immigration. I believe there is a questionaire you can fill out which you can forward. They will let you know pretty quickly if you are in the skilled group they are looking for.. Apply for jobs prior to coming here. If your skill is in demand you may get sponsored by your employer. Or if family or relatives here they can act as sponsors.
I believe Australian Embassy in U.K. can recommend or may even have some on their web page in England to contact. I have seen them on the Australian Govt; site here in this country.
Regards Good Luck

i think of that maximum every physique is below some impression that that's continually sunny and heat in Australia, which isn't the case in maximum places. Melbourne to illustrate, is so unpredictable climate sensible(yet nonetheless a great city). and likewise, it is so distant, the different component to the international, i think of human beings merely see it as some thing slightly 'unique', and new. My reason to to migrate, better than the climate, could be, the human beings, their laid returned friendly strategies-set is astonishing!
