Yes and no. You would not be in danger, regardless of the type, but if your toothbrush is not TOTALLY sealed, water might leak in and damage the motor.

Sonicare is okay for the shower, as the motor housing is totally sealed. The new Sonicare that runs on "AA" batteries, however, is NOT okay for the shower, because it is not sealed adequately.

And forget about those people who don't think you should brush your teeth in the shower! I think you should do it wherever and whenever you want, so long as it helps you do a better job.

Why not? The electric toothbrush that works on battery (not mains) runs on 2 cells of total 3 volts and shouldnt give you any shock. However, if water gets into the toothbrush, the cell would get damaged sooner.
Why do you want to do this? You would be using one hand for brushing teeth - would the other hand be enough for your shower, if your objective is to save time? I think you would end up not having a proper brushing or shower! I would not recommend doing what you have asked here!

Of coarse it is! There is actually a water "floss" attachment available to install in your shower, very similar to the water pic, only better. I use my sonicare toothbrush along with the flosser in the shower all the time, just be careful not to drop your toothbrush and cause damage. Doing it in the shower sure does keep my mirror clean longer! If you are unsure of using the toothbrush, always check with the Co. on line, or by calling their 800#. Be sure to still do the regular cleaning of the brush head weekly.

Another quick easy tip for making sure the head is clean is by using hydrogen peroxide on it. Pour it on, if it bubbles it was dirty and is getting cleaned, if it doesn't do anything, it was clean already. Hope I've been of some help! Good luck.

I wouldn't recommend it,unless it has a waterproof base. "Mighty C" has a good point too. Why not do it before or after your shower?
