My name looks very Islamic, and passport is Iraqi. but I m ex-muslim and I really feel angry and mad about all that hatred comes from religious zealots against Islam. so I have thrist to visit Israel. is it safe to go, should I arrange with a tourist organization to help. is there a dangerous racial profiling.. especially about name and nationality.

Do you have any ties to terrorists? You're Iraqi. Do you have any ties to Muqtadr Al Sadr?

My guess is that the answer to all the above is no. In that case you'll be totally fine in Israel. It's quite safe there, attacks have gone down considerably--the Palestinians are killing themselves now. Arabs look like Sephardi Jews so you probably look Israeli. Israelis won't care about your looks or language. Many Israelis speak arabic.

Your only problem will be getting in and out of the country. You will be interviewed intensely by security and probably you'll have a quick background check. When you leave it will be the same deal. Israel wants to know why you are there. You better have a better reason than "having a thirst." Have your itenarary ready for presentation: complete with hotels, flight plans, and any other plans you have. They interview all foreigners but espcially Arabs. (Sorry, it's just the way things work these days). If you have a clean background and you're not there to start any trouble, they will not mess with you. That's like any country. Travelling to London is a beast for even me--a white guy--because of terrorism stuff. You won't be suspected for anything by security just because you're Arab.

There shouldn't be a real problem.

The security checks in Israel are pretty high and tight (especially in airports and border passages), and most chances are that you will be checked with a higher suspicion, due to your name and nationality, but there shouldn't be any problem if you cooperate.

As for Israel itself, it is quite a safe place, as opposed to its image. The crime rate is lower than in the USA, and even the security threat is not as noticeable in the everyday-life as one can imagine.
You don't need to worry about racism either. Most Israelis are familiar with and respect the Arab and Muslim cultures (remember that many of the Jewish Israelis originate from Arab and Muslim countries).

Have a great trip.

I am still skeptical after your explanation as to why you are an EX-Muslim. How can you be ex-muslim if you hate that people hate it? I don't get it. Anyways, I don't think it's safe and you should know that. I do believe they will discriminate you for being an Arab on the Israeli side. I just want to say allah yihdeek ya a5i. Ma'a il salama.

Israelis are tight, they don't screw around if you screw up but if you're cool they're cool.
