Assuming you can get any of the above cars for the Kelly Blue Book Price(see link below) the BMW sounds best, but by trading a 1999 car for an older one, you're asking for a lot of new problems you haven't encountered yet. In most parts of the country cars this age start having problems because of sun, like the headliner falling down, the padded dash cracking, the top of the rear seat falling apart, the rubber on the window seals and sun roof starts to crack and needs replacement and for the same reason the trunk starts to leak and because of engine heat all the rubber bits under the hood that keep the engine going start to crack. I'd definately stay away from a car over 10 years old, unless your goal is to completely rebuild it. Also, don't be fooled by a low mileage car. An older low mileage car often suffers from things like dry rotted tires, fan belts, etc. If you don't already know how, go to a tire dealer and learn how to read the manafucter date of the tires. Most say replace tires over six years old regardless of mileage.
Just a bit of wisdom from someone who's been there, done that, and spent a lot of money to try and make an old car like new, wait until you have the money to upgrade to a much newer car. And one final point, check with your insurance company first, it's not unusual for a 19 year old to have to pay more for insurance than the car, and this could be the case for you with a BMW.
Good Luck!

I think BMW is by far the best of your options. BMs are lovely and powerful. The prestige that goes with it is also worth considering. The engineering and power is lovely. It is a very durable and reliable car. I have had my BMW 520 for the past 4 years and it is still as reliable as it was when i bought off the previous owner

I'd recommend the impala, and the BMW...the mercury has got it's errors, and if it's got a problem once, it'll lead to so many...
and between the impala and the BMW, the impala is better in your case as it's of a newer model, spare pare part is quite affordable.....the BM, is of course a BM...but it's of an older model, and it's spare parts are definitely more expensive than the impala....so i recommend the impala....;).......and good luck with the one of your choice..

i would go with the bmw but you should consider how much oil changes and other services will cost you.. the more expensive cars have more expensive oil changes some upwards of about $80. make sure you can fit this into your budget before making a desicion.
