I know that Leeches can help in modern medicine.
They suck on your blood but what for?
Are they similar to maggots and eat or suck at the bad parts of your blood?
I have no idea

For many years they used them for women who had vericose veins in their legs. They would apply them to the leg and the leech would proceed to suck out the blood on the swollen vein therefore relieving the swelling.
Don't think they use them anymore though. Now I think they are just a pain in the butt. If you ever have one just make sure you have a salt readily available, You can pour the salt on and the leech will let go and die. Simple as that!!

localized wounds the leeches latch on to the wound and draw the blood out and along with it the pressure. this can reduce the swelling in a localized spot. they also are used to prevent the blood from clotting in the same sort of localized area.
when blood flow is not enough to one small part of the body such as a finger that has been very badly injured the leeches are put on there to help keep blood moving down into the finger

Leeches suck the excess blood, reducing the swelling in the tissues and promoting healing by allowing fresh, oxygenated blood to reach the area until normal circulation can be restored. The leeches also secrete an anticoagulant (known as hirudin) that prevents the clotting of the blood

They don't sucjk the bad parts. Bleeding is necessary in some cases in order to relieve pressure or drain out pus. Leeches do this without using steel instruments and their saliva han an anti coagulant so that they can be removed and the blood keeps flowing.

leeches spread diseases and manipulate cells against preventing cancer. the white blood cells are consumed and destroyed and then rejuvenated as viral d or b alpha. supposively they can be the cure for cancer, but as scientist predicted the cure for cancer can not be found within a lifeform that produces cancer. it;s true leeches can heal the sick by removing the dead white cells, but to remove many is deadly as well.
