I assume You use IE because Opera and all Mozilla based browsers have popup blockers built in. Maybe change the browser? Alternative browsers are IMHO the best popup blocker software.

I remember these popup orgies from my IE days - when i first got into net. Sometimes the popups were so many that my WinME Athlon 1000 256MB system was drained of free RAM and bluescreened on me. lol.
For IE popup blockers are in such things as ICQ, Google and Yahoo toolbar and some commercial security programs.
Ad Nuker Popup Blocker & Spam Filters http://www.zdnet.de/downloads/prg/e/f/de0EEF-wc.html
That is just a german page but the program is English.
Here is also an bigger list: http://php.zdnet.de/downloads/search-wc.php?form_searchstring=popup+blocker&form_os=x&form_licences=x&form_language=x&form_category=x
IMHO all of them do their job more or less well. Some shareware blockers are a little better.than freeware. You can go by percent thumbs up.
IE 7 has a popupblocker by default but as far as I know the browser integrated blockers of the alternative browsers are more reliable.
thanx for reading my post.

It sounds to me like these are not your normal popups, I believe that your system is seriously infected. I recommend running every LEGITIMATE anti-Spyware and anti-Adware program that you can get your hands on. If you still cannot get your system cleaned up, might be time for a reformat. If so, and you really do reformat, don't go back online again until you have the proper protection or it will all happen all over again.

Sounds like you're infested with lots of Spyware. First, download SpywareBlaster from www.javacoolsoftware.com, download recent updates and enable all protection. That won't remove the spyware, but it will block the popups to enable you to get something done. Then get Ad-Aware from www.lavasoftusa.com and Spybot Search & Destroy from www.safer-networking.net and download all updates, then boot into Safe Mode to run the scans. Don't forget to run Immunize in Spybot after getting updates. For tips on configuring Spybot, see:
