it all depends on the type of work you do ...
for some people 8 hrs is more than enough but for some ppl 8 hrs is still not enough..
sometimes you could be sleeping for like forever but it still doesnt seem to be good enough
..in my opinion good sleep is good quality sleep ...where you are deep in sleep...not just tossing and turning on ur bed...you should wake up fresh after you go to bed..if you dont .. then you might need to sleep for longer period of time..

The average is 6-8. Some people, like babies, toddlers and young children need more. Adults should get as much as you need. If you go to bed a 12, and getup a 6 and are still tired, go to bed earlier. If you sleep to long you also get tired. It really depends on the person.

I believe children should get anywhere between 10-12 hours of sleep because they are still developing and adults 7-9. When I sleep 12 hours, I usually feel tired because I've overslept. 9 hours always seems to do it for me.

I feel that each individual differs with the amount of sleep needed. Children appear to need more sleep than adults as in the case of my own two who need at leas 12-13hrs sleep to function properly.
adults need around 8-10hrs sleep and the elderly even less.

You need as many hours as it takes to feel rested and refreshed. Everyone has a different amount they need. I can feel rested after 5 or 6 hours. Some people need 9 or 10.

everyone is different in that aspect. for the most part if your schedule is pretty routine and you go to bed at roughly the same time every night if you can wake in the am with out using an alarm clock you are getting enough sleep...
growing children need a lot more sleep than adults

well i need a good deal of sleep, usually 8-9 hours. I think it depends on your diet, exercise habits, and ur natural body clock.
