You cannot safely keep ground beef for days, under any form - but frozen. the max recommended fridge time is 2 days after grounding (not after purchasing!!!).
It isn't that much a matter of tasty - but of food safety!! check this http://www.cfsan.fda.gov/~dms/fttcook.html and http://www.cfsan.fda.gov/~dms/fttstore.html
Now, what you can do with ground beef, is to prepare meatballs raw (with pinch of salt and pepper), freeze them on a baking sheet - than bag in freezer bags. Then, you can easily simmer a jar of tomato sauce until cooked through directly from the freezer - kids will love this, and it's easy.
You can also prepare burger patties, seasoned as they like, and freeze - stack after freezing to prevent them from sticking together, and you could cook directly on the grill - on low!!! so it has the time to defrost, cook inside and not burn outside.

For me it's what you put on the burger that makes it. Different cheeses, pickles and relishes, onions (raw, grilled, or cooked with the burger), catsup, mustard, some kind of sauce, vegetables (lettuce, tomatoes, mushrooms, sprouts), whatever. Burgers are the canvas, everything else makes it.

how many days are you speaking of.( storing them for too long is not recommended). you can try your stuffed burgers, just filled them with the things that the kids like. (cheese, onions, green peppers, beans what ever they like) you can just use your basic burger recipe and let them top them with the things that they love. (chili cheese burgers, salsa, just what ever they love)

yes. pizza burger. use a little meatloaf mix in the meat. separate it in balls the size of a burger, put it in a sandwich bag and press it with a plate. then freeze them. they're really quick to cook.
when your burger is cooked, top it with a slice of mozzarella and a spoonfull of pizza sause (Ragu will do).
Kids love it.

The classic bacon cheese burger is great. You can also try ranch burgers. All you need is 1 packet of dry ranch dressing.

Yes, definitely make individual patties and freeze them...they thaw out rather fast.
Do not try to keep them for several days without freezing them, or you put your family in danger of food poisoning.
