What can we do to resolve world hunger?

The world is a big place but still 854 million people across the world are hungry, up from 852 million a year ago. Also Every day, almost 16,000 children die from hunger-related causes--one child every five seconds. World hunger is the most extreme form of poverty, more then 1 billion people in the world get less the $1 a day. With that kind of money you can eat nothing. So what can be done to help world hunger be cured.

Being a Social Worker dealing with this on a daily basis, I have ALWAYS said, if we killed off the highly deer populated areas that people continuously gripe about the deer eating their flowers,. deer in the road getting hit etc. Why can't we just kill the access deer and give them to the people, countries, cities, states of the world to feed the hungry...Hmmmm has always made sense to me!

You'd be surprised how far one dollar goes in some countries. People can eat for a dollar a day. But I'm not trying to say it's fine that they're poor. I'd like to see poverty disappear also.

The main problem in the world is over-population. It's the same root that is causing the global warming.

More people mean more trees cut down and desertification of the planet.

Check out the CIA factbook online. It has all the stats on each country in the world. You'll notice that many of the poorest countries have the largest birth rates. Some countries have an AVERAGE of six babies born per woman, and no, it's not because three of them die young. Those horrible problems were resolved a hundred years ago.

So why do women have so many babies? I have spent a lot of time in Bangladesh and similar places, and the root of it is this: religion.

In many countries, even flirting before marriage is forbidden. So when a boy and girl reach 18, they're dying to get married so they can have some private space, and so that they can get on with their animal instincts. The next problem is birth control. They aren't allowed to have any because of their religious beliefs. Add into the mix that they are poor and have no other form of entertainment, and you end up with a baby factory in every shanty.

I don't mean to put the people down. They are surviving the best they can. It's the religious leaders that need to change their posture on the sex and birth control issues.

We can put some of that money into education on farming and the engineering of clean water.

You know what they say "if you feed a man a fish, he eats for a day...if you teach a man to fish, he will never go hungry".

With that being said, if we teach them to hunt, grow crops and develop clean water, in years to come, the hunger issue will be a thing of the past. Until then, I think we all need to realize the severity of this problem and help out a little more. If you aren't into the 3rd world countries, there are just as many in the US that are starving in our own backyards. They don't need a hand-out, they need a hand up. God put us here to love/help one another.

Teach sustainable farming in dry areas like Africa and India. Stop government corruption who steals humanitarian aid and money from people.

its up to the people and the one who leads the country... if the people and the leaders are not supporting each other... what else could we do if the leaders are corrupt or the people are not supporting the leaders?? sad to say we work by our own... in short we should help each other and work as one..
