I have many different favorite parts of the Bible for different reasons. I sum up all in 2Timothy3:16-17 . It reminds us of the blueprint for life that God provided us with.
"16All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, 17so that the man of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work."

When times get tough I try to remember the book of Job. No matter how bad things got, he would not curse God.

Another book is the book of Esther. It is a book about God's purpose for us, because no matter what the situation is like - God may have a purpose for us being in that situation

My favorite is Exodus. I love how Miriam brought her tamborine. The Israelites were in a hurry to leave follow Moses to freedom. They didn't even have time for their bread to rise. Miriam brought a tamborine because she was so sure that God would provide a miracle that she knew that there would be a reason to celebrate.

Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will direct your paths. Proverbs 3:5-6

Num 6:22-27
22Yahweh said to Moses,
23"Tell Aaron and his sons, 'This is how you are to bless the Israelites. Say to them:
24"May Yahweh bless you and keep you;
25 May Yahweh make his face shine upon you and be gracious to you;
26May Yahweh turn his face toward you and give you peace." '
27"So they will put my name on the Israelites, and I will bless them."

This blessing is awesome. The name of the most High is upon us. We are not just blessed by Him, but we carry His name on us.

"The Father himself loves you" (JN 16:27).....it says it all. Many, many people are of the belief that our journy somehow has Jesus as its end when Jesus is actually the means to the end -- the Father. Jesus came to reconcile us in our relationship with the Father. Knowing, believing and accepting that "the Father himself loves me" is the ultimate healing that anyone can go through -- including and especially those who grew up being terribly wounded by their earthly father. When it is demonstrated to you repeatedly that you are in the way simply by your existance, it leaves a terrible mark on your soul. You grow up believing that you are nothing more than an embarrassment to your father (whether or not you actually are) and that you are incapable of ever "measuring up".

It's actually the reason why Mary plays such an important role to so many....lots of times it is easier to relate to the female parent. For years I was devoted to her alone (BUT NOT in the manner of worship!). Little by little she led me gently to her Son who, in turn, slowly revealed to me the true love of the Father. Incidentally this happened as I learned to forgive my own father -- and myself for having eaten of that "apple" -- that is, buying into the crap that I am nothing. The more I sought to understand the more I found healing in and through Jesus my Messiah (Anointed One) whose love and tenderness he lavished upon my wounded soul like a sweet-smelling balm. Many years later I have been reconciled to my earthly father and to my Heavenly Father....the measure in which I forgave is the measure in which I have been healed.
