Friends,Its been seen that many big brains of our country are working in foreign countries which benefits the other country. BrainDrain is a major blockage towards our nations development & it seems that our civic authorities are least bothered about it. Many People who work abroad feel that they don't need to return to their motherland & try to obtain a greencard. What they dont realize is its them on whom others are capitalizing. Today India would have been a developed country & not a still developing if these migrants have stayed back and worked here, for the country.I strongly feel that there are many opportunities in INDIA w8ing to be grabbed. Its upto us to get hold on these opportunities. People tell me 2 study hard so I can get a good job abroad...I ask why? Why go abroad when I do good in my own country? It would also benefit my motherland.
We think what difference can I make alone? But the fact is if we all do play our small but important roles, INDIA will shine like no other.

I am not sure why some people are so concerned about others leaving the country to earn livelyhood when that potential is not respected anywhere in India. I have seen most people who complain are the first ones to leave when sponsored by some of their relatives.

What they don't understand is that it is only because of NRIs (Mon-resident Indians) who have proven themselves in foriegn countries for the long time that these countries are now confidently pourng money in India to use those skills cheaply. Bill Gates would have never set up any center in India if he didn't see the potential of so many Indians working in US.

On the other side, I think the timing may be right for NRIs to come back now to guide India into globalization.

I very much accept to the fact that many people leave the country and get settled. now let me tell the proper reasons.

The answer lies in the question itself because since there is no proper recognition for what i have studied so it is better to do a job in abroad.Lets take an example. Now you suppose that, i am not good in studies but i am a very good painter and i can draw anything i see in this world. Do u thunk that i will be able to get proper recognition in india. There is a quota for sports and other things and nothing is there for me ( painter). But the situation is completely different in abroad because u can become a painter in abroad without any hesitancy as there is recognition for those guys in all the fields. So it is simple " if the country is not giving me proper support then why should i waste my time and destroy my career?

I personally feel that the corporate india will go global only when there is a diapora dividend. It is only in the hands of the entrepreneurs and the diaspora. So i think there is no harm in going abroad.

Lets take an example
Kalpana chawla.
India's got a good name amongst the other world nations because she was in NASA. So " can u say that if she had been in india , would india have got such a name and fame?.so I think it is not about , not working for our country or for others. It is these people who raise the standards of india among the world nations.

So i feel that it is no point in thinking about not working for india and working for other countries. It all depends on what u are doing their and how it reflect upon our country.

What are you talking about man. This country is as it is over populated! Let those who can move out go and settle abroad. If their investments from abroad can fuel development what is the problem with it. Their brains will rot in this cesspool of humans that breed like rabbits. I think indians should go and settle everywhere in the world. Every major city in the world should have a little India just like a china town. We need to desperately control the population in India. What we need is negative growth actually for the next 30 years.

This is a question for me, an NRI who left india ten years ago. I must say that I have lot more respect for India now than when I was there. I always blamed India for not having enough opportunities that I had worked hard for. I then thought maybe I should become part of the solution rather than be part of the problem. I came to US where I had tremendous opportunities to learn and expand. With my increasing responsibilities I had tried to use every opportunity to convince my organization to send projects to India instead of China or Russia which they in millions of dollars.

Sometimes some things are more purposeful from the distance than being closer. Sun is a solution as long as it is distant; it becomes part of the problem if it gets any closer.

Well nowadays money has become a priority in peoples lives. Thus people run wherever they get a chance to get extra money even if they might have plenty already. The reason is increasing insecurity in peoples minds about their future so they want to earn more and more and if u see whats happening in india concerning politicians, increasing prices etc.The politicians eat and survive on the common peoples money .The poorer are becoming poorer and the rich richer. Thus people have lost hope about their India and are thus finding a way out of her. Those who should be ashamed are the politicians as they can see the country crumbling under their eyes and the reason?THEMSELVES.They are not even taking efforts to improve the economic condition of the country. The result is people shifting abroad.

I agree with you, mostly.

I think it is sad that people would leave their mother country only for the pursuit of more money.

But I also do believe in freedome of movement and migration.
So I do not object to the fact that some Indians choose to move to places like the US, Canda, and UK.

However, I do not think it is fair that only weatlhy and well-connected Indians are able to leave. I think freedom of mobility should apply to everyone.

I am heartened, however, by the fact that there are still many wonderful and intelligent Indians who choose to stay in India and make India a better place. Also, many of the Indians who work and live abroad must send money home to their families in India. Is this not a good thing?

In conclusion, I encourage Indians who are thinking of moving to the United States to think again. As an American citizen myself, let me tell you: America is not such a wonderful place as many think it is. America has many serious problems. Many Americans are narrow-minded, racist, prejudiced. Furthermore, many Americans are selfish and greedy and consume far too much. I encourage Indians to appreciate their mother country India, as I do.

For example, I, an American, hope to make India my home one day.

Thank you.

i don't feel its something wrong if they go abroad and settle down there.but i have seen people facing lot of problems abroad also.especially the labour who go to gulf and work in the extreme conditions and visit India once in two years to their families .all this for that extra buck. why are they going in the first place without proper qualification also.they face nothing but hardships.
and some others r settled in other countries and try to come back to India but they can't adjust to the conditions here.they complain ,crib about the roads, traffic, schools, pollution etc etc.finally they give up and go to the same place where ever they have come from. of course, some have happily settled down in India and enjoying. i just wonder why they have to show off so much if they have come from abroad after all they too are Indians
they r more Indian when they are abroad but once they land up here they behave like foreigners.India is changing very fast.some of my friends are already on the move coming back to settle down in India.

Concerned governments in the state as well as at the centre have formulated many number of schemes to retain these talented brains, but without any practicalities or conduicive atmosphere to stay back.
Recently, Karnataka Government has made an effort in this direction in organising campus interviews by many private companies/industries to get together in one place to get a minimum of 1 lakh employment to the people from different fields of education. Such productive activities if repeated in regular intervals could lead to the stoppage of this brain drain in the future.
By providing all out support like back-up, financial assistance, incentives to the beginner entrepreneurs etc... to the letter abd spirit, it would be encouraging. It's not the lack of policies, but because of effective implementation of its policies, matters the most

I'm not from India, and I can see the problem you are referring to. I have noticed people who have children are extremely concerned that they give their children every benefit the world can give them, In America lots of people have really good paying jobs, homes and send their children to college so they can make a good living. I think things that I mentioned are why people might leave India. From what i have seen in India, it is quite beautiful, but some people, really concerned about their children making a good living , move to the USA for that reason.

I just wish someone could come up with a fair and reasonable solution to the problems in Kashmir. Best of luck to you and your family.

u should understand one thing.. wherever these developed countries have reached has been a work of 100s of years of freedom.. USA got freedom in 1776 if i am not wrong.. we are only 59 years old.. why is tat ure expecting so much out of the country..
i think its right if ppl go out learn the trade earn the money and come back use the money for betterment of india..
ppl who still live outside only without doing anything for the country are the idiots.. who should at some point in their life come back and do their duty for the country.. so personal gains and also country's needs are taken care of...
