I'm not sure...it may be more opinion than fact (the actual answer). I am of no religion, but do believe in a power higher than myself...I just don't know his story. That being said, Christians have wreaked havoc on many unsuspecting people. Take the Indian and Jewish holocausts, and the Christian crusades. All were committed by Christians. I am not bashing them though. I just don't know facts on other religions though I am sure they are not innocent of horrific crimes. The Muslims are not terrible but there extremists are and have caused mass death and destruction. The Jews are not innocent either. Israel has many calling it out to be committing crimes against humanity

Most religions have an ideology that tries to focus the inherent insecurities and bad urges of the average human into a positive direction. Unfortunately, as with many types of ideologies, there tends to be a trend toward radicalism as well as a general tendency to "pick and choose" amongst certain tenants of faith that many religious people fall into the habit of doing.

Historically, every monotheistic faith has gone through a period where the "word" was not enough, and forced conversion or annihilation of non-believers was the way of the day. What is overlooked, often, when criticizing this tendency in Christianity and Islam particularly, is that both Jesus and Mohammed's revelations were primarily focused on the radical idea that one should treat one's fellow man as one would want to be treated oneself.
Forget the cultural traditions that have been imposed on both these faiths, and one sees that, if read without an ulterior motive, both these faiths offer instructions for avoiding hostility and violence against others. It is also helpful to remember that at the time that monotheism was in it's ascendancy in Europe and the Middle East, it was not the dominant theology of the day. In fact, the concept of one God was a highly radical one for most of the world, which still worshiped multiple gods and practiced either some form of human or animal sacrifice.
At any rate, I think that condemning any religion outright is unfair for many reasons. One shouldn't confuse the bloody-mindedness of individuals (or individual movements) with the entirety of a religious ideology.

In this day and age, the answer has to be Islam.
The only reason I can say that and get away with it is because I don't live in an Islam-dominated country. Thank God.
Those people who have cited Roman Catholicism make a very good point. Once the Roman Catholic church became a political power, I think Christianity got lost, there for a bit. However, their reign of terror is past. Again, Thank God.
"Religion" will always damage human beings. Only Jesus can heal that kind of damage......

It's a toss up.
Catholicism for the murder rape and torture of millions during the crusades and Inquisition.
Islam for the same basic reasons minus the inquisition but replacing that with innocent deaths for martyrdom. there was also admitted pedophilia and rape. lets not forget adultery. Married women are married no matter what people say.
Though the Catholic religion stole a bunch of stuff from pagan faiths. the Trinity, Christmas (yule) Easter (bunny and eggs) Halloween (Samhain)
That just about makes them even.

I believe the question to be specious in nature. Humans will use religion as an excuse to start wars and kill, etc. but it is not the case that any one religion's IDEAS are responsible. Rather, the perversion of those ideas, along with corrupt human nature are responsible. Having said that, there are some religions more amenable to being abused it seems. The practitioners of the monotheistic religions seem to be especially prone to war involvement, with Christianity and Islam at the fore, throughout their histories.
