What an intriguing question. I think that largely depends on your disposition towards religion in general. Personally, I don't believe humans are born inherently sinful - I think that notion is really quite preposterous. First of all, the definition of sin is very subjective - for example, to some premarital sex is a sin, or jealousy etc, while others may have a less restrictive view of what exactly does and doesn't constitute sin.

In my view, believing in original sin is like setting not just yourself but others up to fail - because if we're inherently flawed, then why strive to better ourselves?

In short, my answer would have to be a resounding NO.

The concept of original sin is false. All are born pure in the eyes of G-d. This idea of original sin was made up by the church to convert and control people, as they were afraid of what hell would be.

The myth of "original sin" was invented to make people feel guilty about the most innocent think in the world and call "evil" the most natural and innate act of all living things: to survive and propagate.

Instead, cultists have warped people's ideas about natural behaviour and created a nonsense "answer" to a problem that didn' t exist to begin with.

It isnt a myth that it took place.

The myth is that God never forgave adam and eve for it and it got passed onto generations of man.

I couldnt have read a more blasphemous thing in my life.

What kind of God would ask you to pay for the sins of another man? adams sins arent my sins!

There is no such thing as original sin. The sins of Adam and Eve cannot be imputed to us. Since Adam and Eve was the representative of human race, the consequences of their acts, their sons and daughters suffer from it (that means us).

The doctrine of original sins was concocted by the Roman Catholics (Pope) including the immortality of the soul. Baptism by sprinkling and the confirmation. Eternal burning in hell of the soul. and many more which was inserted in the doctrine of christianity.

Their motives in this doctrine is to sow fear among men, but the scripture clearly manifest the love of God toward man when he gave is only begotten son that whosoever beliveth in him shall not perish but have everlasting life.

The original sin was disobedience to God. Now we do that all the time. Not it was not a myth.

If you believe God created Adam and Eve, the first two human beings created, the first sin committed by them is the original sin.

So far I have not been able to discover a truly original sin, only minor modifications on previous efforts.

Well, if sin is here it must have originated somewhere, so there must be original sin. Unless you believe it evolved, and the first sin was only a part of a sin........
