Jesus is a historical figure. He just is not G-d, or the son of G-d, (anymore than we are all the sons and daughters of G-d).

Jesus is not a myth.
Jesus is not just a historical figure, because He is alive.

Both, in all likelihood.
It's reasonably likely that a person by that name lived (actually, more like Jeshus ben David); it's also certain that some of the things ascribed to him (particularly the mystery-cult ideas about a dying god-king) we added to the story of this person. By Paul.

Definitely historical figure, but there is a lot of controversy surrounding him that you have to swim through.

Jesus was a carpenter, and a rebel. In his days it was common practice to blow your hero's deeds completely out of proportion. By the time all this was recorded changed around and added to you got someone that can walk on water. He was the son of God just like we are all Gods children.

Jesus is a word, it isn't a name for just one person. it is a representation of many kind or types of person one must follow or immitate in order to have an everlasting life.
there is no proof of "Jesus" ever existed. the image people are using from now is just someone who matches the description in one of the bible stories.

Jesus may have very well existed, but I don't think he's any more special than any other savior there's been.
And yes, there's been other people, demi-gods if you will, who sacrificed themselves for humanity to better humanity before Christ did. Odin is my personal favorite.
