It wasn't ok before but it's ok now. Have they been lifted from hell and now are in heaven....with compensation?

Good question! Like in the Middle Ages they believed upbaptised babies would go to Hell or Purgatory, but now the church says this is not true and that a loving God would treat them with kindness.
Personally, I don't believe the Friday meat eaters would have gone to Hell anyway! Even back then, i bet they didn't believe they would go to hell for eating meat on a friday, they probably just thought it would mean they had an extra few years in Pugatory.

It started at a time when people were big meat eaters, and during Lent, they were asked to try and abstain from meat eating for the sake of the Lord's Passion, and what he did for us. It was also a good discipline for the body to also fast. It was a Church rule, and was lifted as it did not have the same relevance today. People are asked to give up something or do an act of charity. I say if your in the club, try and keep the rules. It was never a doctrine. Pretty sure one did not go to hell for that, maybe for mockery!

Friend read Colossians 2:16-17 Let no man therefore judge you in MEAT(PORK) or in drink, or in respect to a holyday, or the new moon or the Sabbath days(Saturday or Sunday) 17: Which are a shadow of things to come------ If no body else wants the meat, send it to me, I won't eat it in front of you, Than is also Scriptures for me not to offend those that are weak in the faith, But once you are gone, I will have supper.

This is not a Biblical requirment but a man made doctrine.
Also the Bible does not teach that all good people go to heaven. This is another man made misconception.

A man runs a stop sign and is fined. Some time later, the city decides that stop sign is no longer needed and removes it. Was it unfair for the man to be fined at the time for running the stop sign? Should he receive compensation now?

Eating meat on Friday???
I don't think you have that correct.
Once Catholics believe you had to eat fish only on Friday. But I think that has changed.
