if i never applied for a loan with a specific lender... can i dispute it? (i know i can dispute the negative part)

Yes. Call the credit reporting agency, or send them a letter, and let them know that you are disputing that you did not apply for the loan. You will need to provide your name, address and ssn to credit reporting agency, and they will respond to your dispute within 30 days.
