I'm searching for a mini-dv camcorder to record high frame rate video, so without (software) post processing gives me a smooth, no flickering slow motion scene. does the Canon's XL-2 ,with it's multi fps setting, help me on that?

Earl D obviously hasnt heard about the HVX200. Its around $6000, and it offers overcranking and undercranking, with speeds as high as 60fps. And it records HD in DVCPRO 100, and SD onto MiniDV cassettes. Hope this helps!

I got it in post production with Studio DeLuxe as double, triple, quadruple framing.

You're not goiong to find variable speed DV cameras until you get into the $10K range and even then I don't think they go much above 100 FPS.

You're going to have to go to film with a Miliken which goes up to 1000 FPS using a rotating prism.
