It depends on the cough medicine.

Prescription cough suppressants often have stimulants which can either make you sleep, or make you wired. Cough medicines with codeine can get you hooked I suppose, if you drank enough.
Also, one has to remember that cough medicines are alcohol based, so drink enough of it and you would have the same reaction drinking liquor.
I wouldn't recommend using cough syrup for a cheap high, however.

you dont really get high, it can be addictive however, i dont know whether it's the taste or chemical thats in it.

Don't take any more than it says on the bottle because it could be really harmful. And dont take it unless you really have a cough :P
