The dead sea is below sea level and in a very hot part of the world. Any water running into it can only escape by evaporation. This leave behind all the minerals, especially salts that were previously dissolved. This makes the water very dense so floating is easy

You can float on any body of water, provided that you are buoyant enough. So the Dead Sea is no different. It is very salty because it does not have an outlet. So the salt just builds up to a toxic level where certainly no fish can live there.

you can float on any sort of water, the dead sea, as it is like a lake, has no connection to the ocean, the water has been evapourated off in the middle eastern sun, leaving a high concentration of salt, giving any thing that goes in it greater boyancy.
