One of those new Visa Debit Cards that you spend your savings instead. Are there any hidden fees I should know about when I sign up? Any monthly fees or something? I turned 18 just last month.

There is nothing wrong with these cards. I've used them before and they are great esp. if you don't trust yourself with credit cards.

You're from Oz, right? Well these cards work like your bank keycards/ATM cards except they have the added advantage of being used to pay for goods and services wherever Visa logos are displayed. For this reason, it has the benefit of beign used everywhere VISA is accepted, while deducting funds directly from your account.

There are no hidden fees with it. You pay similar fees that you would pay for using your regular bank keycard.

Yes there definatly is. READ ALL THE SMALL PRINT for sure.If you just turned 18 then you more than likely havent built up your credit any yet, so you may not be able to get one, but there is some cards that you can get , but the limit is usually 250, and they charge you bout 170 or more in up front fee's so already you have a bill to pay each month.
