and why is it that an egg breakfest helps one loose weight, how?

Having two eggs for breakfast will give your body the immediate nutrients it needs, it fills you up and you feel better because you feel sated. HOWEVER...having two eggs every morning will also severly raise your cholesterol and make the risk of having a heart attack or stroke much higher than even the Average population at this time (New England Journal of Medicine, June 2005. ("What Makes the Atkins Diet a Killer?" 53-67).

Yes, your body does need protein. HOWEVER, your body needs complex carbohydrates moreso to enable itself to keep going for the long haul. What the general population has been doing is eating too many complex carbohydrates and not spacing meals throughout the day. It is mainly portion control and eating too many saturated and triglyceride-related fats, including trans-fat.

My personal suggestion for losing weight? Eating six little meals every day and spacing out your carbohydrates (CHO's) so that your body is not overloaded on CHO's and turns them to fat instead of being able to burn them with daily routine and exercise three times a week.

If you want to learn more AND to stay strong and healthy, visit the American Diabetes Association website and read up on how to count CHO's and fat grams in foods. They also have books that break down the foods in fast food restaurants so that you can figure out rather easily the fat content, protein, CHO, and other neat ingredients like salt...are in the foods sold in fast food places.

You can also, on the web, contact your State's Attorney General website. They often have booklets for free that they will send you with lots of cool information.

Good Luck and Stay Smart with the dieting,

It would help you lose weight if you are cutting down from 3 or 4 eggs to 2.

It is not good to eat eggs everyday for breakfast for several reasons, cholesterol levels would rise dramatically, could cause a bad allergic reaction in gut and of course 'boredom' with same old same old.
And fried eggs require extra fat or oil to cook them, so not so healthy option. Poached, boiled, scrambled with low fat milk is a far better option.

Yes, it may help you lose weight provided other harmful high caloric intake from products such as donuts, cakes, and pies is avoided. It helps you lose weight when that's all you eat for the day. I would recommend that you eat only two eggs a day for as long as you can before you see a doctor after suffering from malnutrition. But you'll be trim and slim, that's for sure.

Wow, that's odd. We have our own chickens and I've never had double yolks from them... then again I don't really eat them often so I wouldn't know! The double yolks wouldn't necessarily be from one hen (it's very unlikely really) it'll just be from one batch of young hens in their 'peak of laying power', it's when two yolks are produced too closely together and they get stuck in the one shell when the egg is made. You cannot buy breeds to produce double yolkers though, because they'd be twins, and twins don't have room to develop in one egg and they'd just die out. When the other guys say about buying them all the time, they bought the eggs from last years chicks in about late spring/early summer.

eggs are on the good list again. its funny how they along with milk kinda jump from being healthy to unhealthy. egg yokes are not the best, but the newest buzz ive heard is the whites will offset the high cholesterol in the yokes. so is a wash? i guess your bloood tests will show when you get lab work done. besides, everyone is different. 2 eggs a week rule is bs

It might be that someone is saying this because having some protein in your breakfast will help avoid snacking because it satisfies you more. So being more satsfied at breakfast will lead to less between-meal snacking, and you'd lose weight that way.

NOt sure but it is recomended in a week you actually do not eat more than two eggs.As two eggs contain the same cholestral as a steak and will raise your cholestral very high

Let's get that clear : if you have to lose weight it means you have a surplus of calories stored in your body fat (1 Pound of fat= 3500 calories) that you have to shed off.

To lose fat you have to eat less than you need ,at rest or with exercise.

So whatever you eat you have to be in a negative balance/24 hrs to lose weight and fat.

You got that?
