I agree with answer #1 but you could charge your camera before you leave and put the charger in your main luggage, this will leave a little more space for the things you really need as hand luggage

Yes you can and you can still use your camera during the flight. Still check with the Flight ppl 1st.

Yeah sure you can have it on the plane. carryon or checked baggage it doesnt matter. however you should know that they ask you to please keep all electronics turned off.
