230ish, takes between 4 and 5 hours. I tend to travel at night - leaving London at about 10pm and getting to Manchester at about 2am. I find the best route is M25>M40>M42>M6Toll>M6>M56.

You have a computer obviously so look up AA autoroute save it on your desk top then everytime you want to know the distance of a trip just enter details on autoroute and it will tell you the best route. It also shows you a map and highlights blackspots for traffic delays. You can state whether you want a motorway route or quieter roads and you can go via any town you put in the via option. It tells you the distance of each trip and roughly how long it will take. Print it off and away you go. I think it's brilliant.

This is about 207 miles (from the centre of london to the centre of manchester). It should take about 4 hours and 44 minutes, but depends on traffic etc! (You can get exact directions from http://maps.google.co.uk !) Hope this helped! xxx
