A lot of people have been using this Pbuh stuff or name or whatever when referring to Jesus tonight in some questions and answers. I have no idea what it is and I am curious to know what it is and what it means and it's significance.

Someone stated that I may have offended some Muslims and others by my question. I don't see where anything I have said can offend someone, but it is not my intention to offend anyone by my question and if someone does get offended (for whatever reason) I'm sorry. I am just merely asking a question about something that I don't know about and have never heard of until tonight. That is all.

It means Peace Be Unto Him. Muslims say it as praise. We say it after the name of every prophet. Muhammad (PBUH). Jesus (PBUH). Abraham (PBUH). Joseph (PBUH). Joshua (PBUH). Noah (PBUH). Hope this helps. :))

This is a tradition for Muslims. Whenever they mention the name of a man they venerate as a prophet or great leader, they speak or print the words, "Peace be unto him!"
That's what the abbreviation means.

It stands for "Peace be upon him." It's a type of salutation, used by Muslims to refer to Christ, as well as other figures.
(I'm not Muslim, in case you thought I was.)
And by the way, you may have offended some Muslims and others with your question...just a heads up.
God bless.

It's muslim drivel, used for respect.
In the case of Jesus or Abraham, it's "Peace be upon him"
In the case of Muhammad it means "Pork be upon him" because of the fact that Allah loves pigs- he created them.

It means (peace be upon him/her)...usually meant for prophets...just a prayer, asked in their sake from God.....for all the things they have sacrificed for Us....as we can ask nothing else.....
