The strange thing is that it should be the catholic feeling guilty/hypocritical about it but most of the time they don't. Many never go to church or never do anything "religious" but when they marry they want the full show. They don't feel bad about it so why should you ?
Just go ahead if it's important for your partner.

Unless you convert to Catholicism it would not be considered a Catholic marriage, there are seven sacraments in the church one being the sacrament of marriage, if you marry your guy in the Catholic church you will be asked to take a marriage preparation class regardless if you convert or not, if you wish to convert that could take a year or so, if you are divorced that complicates things further as you would need an annulment. The church takes marriage quite seriously and purposely slows the pace down in regards to the marriage process as to assure compatibility between couples...if you have guilty/hypocritical feeling then maybe this is not right for you? counseling and more counseling before marriage...it is a lifelong commitment and a beautiful way to pledge your love before God and the public. If you do not convert and decide to marry it would not be a sacrament hence no Mass during the wedding....kind of a "B" grade Catholic wedding which is what I had, things could get nasty if you would argue about what re legion your children would be, we are an older couple so no issue for us, she had to promise to the church not to prohibit my involvement with Mass etc.The Catholic church is an orthodox form of Christianity thus claiming being formed by Jesus, Methodist are one of thousands of protestant churches that have different and sometimes more liberal views on marriage.

If one important different is Catholic, the couple can marry interior the Church. notwithstanding, in view which you reside mutually already, you probable purely isn't allowed to have the massive gown and princessy factor. The Church prefers which you marry, yet you're able to correctly be married quietly without a huge teach.

Catholics are obligated to marry in the Catholic Church. They are also obligated to bring their children up Catholic. Are you cool with having Catholic children? If not, you should break it off and find someone else.

I don't see any harm. I've seen Wiccans marry in Methodist churches.
It's up to the church and the wedding party to decide.
The most important thing is not where they marry but how seriously they take the marriage.

I'm in the same situation. My mom really wants me to get married in a church, but there's just no way. I've already faked being Christian my whole life so she wouldn't worry about me. The least I could do for myself is not get married in the place where I'm most restless.

If you're truly agnostic then you don't know if there is a God and so what exactly is the harm in pandering to your partner who believes that there is. You might just be hedging your bets eh?

Is this a statement of even yolkness? If so,then you must be evenly yolked to marry,or it just might not work out .For example,if one is agnostical & the other is Catholic, then no, one & the other are not evenly Yolked. Says so in the holy bible.

So long as those who matter understand that's it's just a ceremony there's no deception and no need to feel guilty. Just don't get talked into joining their screwy religion.
