This has been going on for 2 years and for the first year, I've tried taking sleeping pills, until I thought i was going to overdose myself, so I stopped because it wasn't working. Any other ideas?

I have/had the same problem. Normally I try to stay up for over 28 hrs. ( if I can ) on the weekend and try to make it to about 9 pm.( exhausted at this point ) then I can wake up about 6-7am-ish. I try to stick to that schedule. Dunno if that may help you.

I have that problem too. It is do to life Style change. I usually have a hard time sleeping anyways. When I do sleep I sleep better during the day. I can go days sleeping for only a couple hours. When I go to bed I can sleep for a whole day. My doctor prescribed me sleeping medication. Strong stuff. It helps with restless leg syndrome. I think it mostly has to do with my wife work till 3 am. I am a light sleeper so when she comes to bed I am up all night. It really sucks when I am woken up after taking sleeping meds. There is no way I can get back to bed after that. Sleeping problems can be associated with depression and anxiety. Talk to your doc.

Try your hardest not to sleep during the day and hopefully you'll be tired enough to sleep at night.

Also, don't do "day" activities in bed. (Such as reading, chatting on the computer, talking on the phone, etc.) If you get used to doing these activities in bed, once you go to bed to actually sleep, you'll feel like you're supposed to be doing something else.

you probably have insomnia, that's what i have. I'm on Trazodone, it's a sleeping medication. It is pretty cheap and very effective. You will need to ask your doctor if this is the right medication for you, and you need to get it through prescription. I hope this helps.

try to change your life cycle, i mean.. if you dont sleep at night, try not to sleep at daytime and do a lot of activity, but just dont sleep, just make your body so tired at daytime, i'm sure you will be tired and sleepy.

just discipline yourself, if you sleep late, try to wake up early and do activities, just discipline yourself, dont sleep at daytime, i'm sure you will sleep well at night

or if it's psychological, just go to the doctor or just pray
