I think all Sabbaths (Friday for Muslims, Saturday for Jewish people and Sunday for Christians) emphasise the need for contemplation, prayer and abstaining for more worldly activities. On that basis, I think the only thing that can be an issue is not having any opportunity to do this - the day is not the point.

I think all religions have the notion of collective worship as a way to mutually support each other, which sabbaths promote. I think that without any contemplative time faith is very difficult to maintain in your everyday life. Hence, why sabbaths are emphasised but not a one way ticket to "hell" if you cannot do them.

No one really knows what day of the week the Sabbath is actually on. But as long as we take one day of the week, and it doesn't matter which day it is, and we recognize it as the Sabbath and keep it holy, then we will be just fine. We won't be breaking the commandment that says to remember the Sabbath Day and keep it holy. We watch a show called Shepherd's Chapel with Pastor Arnold Murray. He is the best Bible teacher we have ever seen and he is the one who taught us this. If you choose to have Saturday as your Sabbath, that is fine. If you choose to have Tuesday as your Sabbath, that is fine as well. It is really up to you which day you want to have as the Sabbath as long as you just pick one and stick with it.

NT Christians are not bound by the 4th commandment.
Romans 7;6ff
If you will read the NT Epistles you'll find 9 of the 10 commandments reinstated. The 4th is specifically ommitted.
I Cr 13;8a

It took God 6 days to create the world. He rested on the 7th. There are 3 earth ages taught in the Bible. How long a day was in the beginning isn't known. God is an eternal being and time doesn't exist in eternity. 7 days could have been millions of years. To say Sunday is the seventh day and should be the day of rest is silly. We just don't know. As long as we pick one day to rest after toiling for 6 days and if that suits us, it's fine with God. If we choose to work the 7th day I don't think God will punish us for that. If we are Christians that's all that counts. Being a true Christian will be what is looked at and if we are true Christians, you will hear after you die and are in God presence, "Good job my son, welcome."

Christianity is based on belief in the sacrificial death of Jesus Christ for entry into heaven. This is the core belief of the christian faith. So have a think about that and then you find the answer to your question.. which is "no".

Certainly not.

Neither Saturday nor Sunday is the correct sabbath and let me tell you why.

The first sabbath ever was the 7th day of creation and writing did not exist for a very long time after that.

How in the world do we know that we have kept the 7th day accurately since that time?
