It depends on the state. I worked in the Wisconsin DOC and we had former inmates visiting their girlfriends at our facility. So anything's possible. It just needs to be cleared through the person who approves the visiting lists(and provided there isn't anything in your state's statutes that prevents it!)

It Depends

The prison in question can refuse visits from anyone they want. For whatever reason they want.

Convicted "Felons" no longer have the same rights as other citizens.
1. The right to vote
2. The right to "Bear Arms" aka carry a gun
3. etc

Now there is no such "Right" in the constitution guarantees visitation of prisoners. That would be classified as a "privilege" sort of like a drivers license is a privilege. Your state doesn't have to give you a license and your state can revoke it anytime it wants.

There is a distinct difference between a felony and a misdemeanor. A felony is related to a Federal Crime. Felons are placed in Federal Prisons. non felons are placed in State Prisons.

Fighting or assault & Battery is not a felony unless you assualted a Federal Official or committed a crime in the military (All military convictions are felonies)

The rules for visitors should be at the department of correction page for your state...in Texas you can't visit if you are wearing sandals or a short sleeved shirt....so good luck !

If you have a felony, you can visit the penitentiary for a long, long time.

Yes, but they have to be on the visitor's list for that inmate.
