I've served two tours in the Marine Corps Infantry in Iraq and I can tell you first hand we do care about innocent civilians. But the problem faced a lot of the times is that the word "innocent" isn't always the case.
The majority on the U.S. population gets their information about the war in Iraq from one source and that is the media. What most people don't understand, mostly because all they know of war is what they see on TV, is that there are hundreds of decisions that have to be made daily by the average 18-20 year old Solider or Marine that may require the loss of a human life. Either a U.S. life or an Iraqis life. I'm not saying one is more important but when the bullets start flying I know which one I'm gonna choose.
Our U.S. Military is also highly educated. I can't believe that the American population actually thinks people join the military because they can't make it in college, or that their too dumb to work in the "real" world. HELLO? Since when has patrotism become known as stupidity. I think the media needs to start airing those planes crashing into the Twin Towers just as a realitiy check.
As Soldiers and Marines, our job is to do the best that we possibly can under stressful and hostile conditions. Basically imagine trying to drive to work and there is a constant threat that you might be blown up by an IED, or there are 10 men waiting around the corner to shoot RPGs and AK-47's at you. And you have to do this day in and day out 24/7.
A large part of what we do over there is hearts and minds missions. Meaning we go out into the community see what problems the civilians are having and try to help with what resources we have.
My question to you is: Why is that uneducated people about the war in Iraq engage in getting their information from one-sided, bias, media organizations?

Apparently you're not paying attention.
Here in the real world, there's a nation called the United States of America. This nation has something called "smart bombs". We have the technology to put these bombs into the hip pockets of a terrorist while leaving the area around him intact.
The Israelis actually demonstrated this during their little skirmish with Lebanon last year. They sent a guided missile into an apartment building where a Hamas minister had his office. They were able to put the bomb right through the window and leave the rest of the building (and the innocents) in tact.
Here's my question to you:
Why aren't you smart enough to figure out that it's the terrorists who kill indiscrimminately and cause far more collateral damage every time they attack?
Are you actually that dumb that you never noticed this?

1st of all
If it is the US military then they cannot intentionally kill "innocent" civilians. (SEE SOURCE) However innocent civilians may be unintentionally killed during war operations and considered collateral damage. Military personnel of the US must follow orders in the field or face court martial or even a summary judgement of on the spot execution by thier immediate commander in the field.
As for polititians?
Usually when US politicians send the US military to War to destroy the enemy it involves destruction of that nations infrastructure and lot of bombing and gunfire that lead to the deaths of many indigenous people of the nation the US takes military action against. YOU R RIGHT! They don't CARE!! That nations Citizens don't Vote in the USA. But don't feel offended they don't care about the guys they send over to those countries either. US Politicians are usually very wealthy thier children aren't the one who the US sends to War so they don't care about thier own soldiers either.
There is only 1 US Congressman with a son in Iraq and Although Pres. Bush believes Strongly in sending troops to War who now number more than 3,000 dead. He has not sent his own children over there!

It was a bit difficult to decipher what you're trying to ask; the best answer I can come up with is this: politicians are not necessarily ex-military personnel nor are they savvy in the ways of engagement; while the military personnel are out in the front risking their lives, the politicians are sitting down in a comfortable easy-chair drinking tea with their little pinkies up in the air, chatting away about their last visit to the theater or what they had for dessert the previous night at a some expensive restaurant they intend to charge their constituents for; they do NOT encourage their own children to join the armed services but encourage the general public's children to make the sacrifice, to face danger 24/7 and to live in a state of constant adrenaline rush... WE, the general public can't imagine what that must be like. Do you even have at least ONE relative that has served in ANY war?
Politicians are liars and nincompoops who have trouble avoiding stepping over their own shoes and they make a mess out of the efforts of those in uniform; politicians usually faint at the sight of a paper cut.
Anytime you have politicians giving orders to the military, you have unnecessary deaths, gross mistakes made and embarrassing situations that are quickly blamed on others.
I am angry enough to be tied that Bush and Cheney, both with adult children that won't even consider joining the military and serving in a war started by their fathers, have NOT had the testicular fortitude nor the heart to attend ONE of the 3,000+ funerals of our fallen enlisted men and women! Yet they question the patriotism of anyone who questions this war and those White House cronies that are making a fortune by profiteering at the expense of this war! WHERE is their patriotism when they do not question the fees charged and paid by those profiteering from this war???
The armed services is not a pissing contest for desk jockies to get involved in or men that squat to pee! In case you are not aware of the facts, the majority of the civilian deaths are the result of terrorist attacks, not by our enlisted personnel! Are we clear on that, or are you too stupid to understand this (judging by your spelling and your lack of grammar)???

You are talking in general friend. some are educated and some are not educated well. The military are just complying with lawful orders from their superiors Politicians are not connected with such killings but it is the government who engaged war

Learn how to type. I am in the US Army and i care about others lives. So dont think that all millitary members are on a mission to go over seas and whipe out women and children. We have laws we have to follow while at war, its called the geneva convention. Try a search on that. Learn a little something before you ask a question.

Since man was created he killed. This, unfortunately, is one of the major weaknesses of man. He kills his fellow man as well as animals, birds, fish. He is one of the few animals on earth that kills for sport. Education has very little to do with it. Even educated people kill for land, money and power.

Just because someone is *educated* does not exclude them from being a moron!
If someone is thrilled about govt, politics and killing, then they are not worthy of calling themselves an *educated* person!
Politicians are all crooked, the govt is crooked and killing (war) is never the answer to anything!
