Also, I see great irony in the rev. and his son's name Martin Luther king. (the black civil rights defenders) But in there defense, things were not available back then like they are now, (like the internet)so when these black men were named they were done so on the premise of Martin Luther's other half. The half much of the Christian people were and are still shown. His good side let's say. Anyways Happy MLK Grand Inquisito...

Yes.

"What shall we do with...the Jews?...I advise that all their prayer books and Talmudic writings...are to be taken from them."

"What shall we do with...the Jews?...I advise that safe-conduct on the highways be abolished completely for the Jews."

"What shall we do with...the Jews? I advise that their rabbis be forbidden to teach on pain of loss of life and limb."

"What shall we do with...the Jews?...set fire to their synagogues or schools and bury and cover with dirt whatever will not burn, so that no man will ever again see a stone or cinder of them."

"What shall we do with...the Jews?...their homes also should be razed and destroyed."

"We are at fault for not slaying them [the Jews]."

Sure doesn't sound tolerant at the very least.

Yeah he was very anti-semetic considering he wrote this:

Luther wrote "First to set fire to their synagogues or schools and to bury and cover with dirt whatever will not burn, so that no man will ever again see a stone or cinder of them..." "Second, I advise that their houses also be razed and destroyed..." "Third, I advise that all their prayer books and Talmudic writings, in which such idolatry, lies, cursing and blasphemy are taught, be taken from them..." "Fourth, I advise that their rabbis be forbidden to teach henceforth on pain of loss of life and limb..." "Fifth, I advise that safe-conduct on the highways be abolished completely for the Jews. For they have no business in the countryside, since they are not lords, officials, tradesmen, or the like. Let them stay at home..." "Sixth, I advise that usury be prohibited to them, and that all cash and treasure of silver and gold be taken from them and put aside for safekeeping..." "Seventh, I commend putting a flail, an ax, a hoe, a spade, a distaff, or a spindle into the hands of young, strong Jews and Jewesses and letting them earn their bread in the sweat of their brow, as was imposed on the children of Adam..." and recommended that these "poisonous envenomed worms" be forced into labor or expelled "for all time."

Just google Martin Luther anti-semitic?

This one is my favorite quote:

"My essay, I hope, will furnish a Christian (who in any case has no desire to become a Jew) with enough material not only to defend himself against the blind, venomous Jews, but also to become the foe of the Jews' malice, lying, and cursing, and to understand not only that their belief is false but that they are surely possessed by all devils. May Christ, our dear Lord, convert them mercifully and preserve us steadfastly and immovably in the knowledge of him, which is eternal life. Amen."

The scary thing is most christians dont know this about him.

>>Was Martin Luther the Christian theologist anti-semitic?<<

Yes, insanely. He inspired and influenced Hitler.

And to the guy who implicated the Catholic Church, the article states, "Although Luther did not invent anti-Jewishness, he promoted it to a level NEVER BEFORE seen in Europe. Luther bore the influence of his upbringing and from anti-Jewish theologians such as Lyra, Burgensis, (and John Chrysostom, before them). But Luther's 1543 book, 'On the Jews and their lies' took Jewish hatred to a NEW LEVEL when he proposed to set fire to their synagogues and schools, to take away their homes, forbad them to pray or teach, or even to utter God's name." (emphasis mine)

this isn't a lot of a protection of Luther yet only undeniable truth. Anti Judaism grow to be undemanding over Europe because it grow to be by using Catholics and non Catholics.i trust all Luther grow to be doing grow to be using his e book for more suitable approval of his perspectives.

He most surely was, like everybody else at that point in time. But don't forget that in the minds of people at that time, the Jews were God-killers. Thus it was taught by the Catholic Church and the church was the ultimate authority. The Reformation broke with many abuses, practices and dogmas of the Catholic Church, but anti-semitism was not one of them.
Sorry, no references.
