It depends who you ask. People with B.Sc. think B.Sc. is more valueable, and people with B.Eng thing B.Eng. is more valuable.

What you want to do with it is obviously important - if you're planning on a job with lots of maths (e.g. finance, academia, meteorology) then science may be best, whereas if you want to do something where a quick working result is important then Eng may be considered better.

I've been to several programming interviews where I've been told they don't look at B.Sc. people (i.e. computer science grads), since they feel engineers are good at producing working solutions quickly, rather than spending time designing the optimum solution.

I hasten to add I got an engineering degree, so (a) I'm biased and (b) they probably say completely the opposite to the science-degree people they interviewed. This definitely isn't an attack on science degrees... I'm just trying to suggest which is stereotyped as a "better thing to have" in different careers.

Beware of someone offering a bachelor of engineering degree. The proper degree is Bachelor of Science in Engineering, with the branch of engineering inserted, as in Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering.
