i live there so of course im going to be bias =P
its a fantastic spot, its not all kangaroos and koalas lol
its coffee and partying and parks and rivers.
perth is a very out door city,we love to all get to gether for massive events, and we are always at cafes and the beach.
we're all very friendly and love to listen to local aritsts in parks or go shopping in vintage boutiques. perth is a short drive from fremantle, a shipping harbour with amazing shops and cafes,mandurah- the fishing and boating capital and other places such as margeret river (amazing surfing and wines) and farmland.
a major attraction is also the swan valley, where u ca ndrive along and visit the chocolate factory, the cheese factory, the nougat factory,or many amazing wineries.
there is plenty of accomodation,at a range of prices.
perth is a smaller city, but this is an avantage as everywhere is pretty close, and the population is pretty small (around 1 million)
lose yourself in perth!
seriously, you'll love it

Having spent most of my youth in Perth and the suburbs and country I keep asking myself why the hell i ever left
It is modern, progressive, has some of the most beautiful scenery in Australia, especially in the SW corner of the State.
It's transport is wonderful, its people are extra friendly and helpful and they are proud of their State. The City of Perth is small by comparison to other Capitals but its road system is far superior. Kings Park is a must to visit and splendid views across the narrows and the Mighty Swan River.
Fremantle is steeped in history and a vist to the Fishmarkets for Fish and chips is a must. Their beaches are something else! Leighton, Cottesloe, Scarborough are some of the finest surf and swimming beaches in Australia. Trains or buses will get you to dozens of great beaches.
Rockingham and Mandurah are great tourist spots that are beach areas with all facilities and transport to get there.Hotels motels caravan parks abound.
As someone else mentioned Rottnets island where you will see a mist unusual; animal that can be seen nowhere else in Australia the Quokka.
I could fill this page and more. Just don't hold back your visit I guarantee you will be impressed and have a great time.

Perth is the best thing in this planet I go 4 times every year I think they have lovely communities and people. Greatest reastaraunts and chefs. The night clubs well there just spectacular espcially Metropolis in Fremantle. They also have lovely little markets and shops were everyone is caring and sharing. Once I was in Fremantle Markets buying some food I dropped a bag and everyone stopped helped and asked if I was OK. I also love the prices cheap but luxury. I'am moving to just south of Perth in a town called Kwinana just beautiful there's great houses and all afordable and great people also close to shops, beaches, parks and everything.
Goodluck.

Perth is such a great city. I stayed there for 3 weeks while I was in Australia because I loved it so much. It is also a good place to base yourself if you want to see more of the southwest, which I recommend.

I have lived here for 18 years , originally from England. I think Perth is amazing. It has all the beauty you could hope for and its very laid back and relaxing. So many things to do and sites to see and the people are very friendly. Our beaches are amazing with gorgoues weather. If you get the chance you must visit and decide for your self. you will not be disapointed.

Perth rocks! It's a great place for a holiday. I especially love Fremantle and Rottnest Island. If it wasn't over the other side of the country, I'd visit more often.

we have just moved over to perth in the last 6months from new zealand.the climate takes a bit of getting use to but on the whole, perth is a really neat place.to me the people living here are very much laid back.it kind of reminds me of a very young and expanding city.new buildings and bussinesses are popping up everywhere.when we first arrived a lady came over to us and said "welcome to W.A.you know W.A means Wait A while eh?"shes right so far but we love it..

I took my 1 year old daughter there for a visit last year - we both loved it! Such a beautiful city. Tons to do for both mums and bubs. My favorite thing were the beaches. I had to invest in some lovely photography just to correctly capture the look of the place (my camera did not do it justice!) I would return in a heartbeat!

Lived there for 30 years. Great place for breeding and retiring. For the ages 16 to 40 its a huge bore. Its very slow and too laid back. Avoid at all costs.
