Hello there! If you want to put it on another computer to run, then the answer is no (anyhow, it's illegal to do so, as u need to have a seperate license key). Each installation of Windows is tailored to that computer specifications, and different files/drivers are installed. So a simple port-over won't work. Now if you want to make a backup of your hdd, so u can restore it later without reinstalling it over again, then yes, u can. You'd need a ghosting app, like Norton's Ghost, or R-Image. And also, you'd need to have a DVD burner as your Windows XP won't fit on a 700 MB CD-R.

Hope this helps.

No, Cuz if you did, then I would have probably bought the cheaper, illegal download from you, instead of the store. lol If you gotta have a copy google windows xp OEM. There you can find sites that sell the disk. Contrary to all the people who can not read, it is legal, says the United States Supreme Court, so Bill Gates and others lost where the consumers gained. I tell everyone go to pcworld.com for the info

Yes. Make a CD clone with Norton Ghost RS(you need a burner, and Ghost may tell you to put in a second CD to continue copying files, so be ready and watch the instructions), and to install it to an XP computer (you may need to format and partition, but the Ghost Clone should take you through it), put it in the CD drive, start it up, when it boots, choose "boot from CD", and it should install an exact copy of your system.

If you don't have a burner, you can still clone the system, and save it to a zip file. Then you can network to another computer(with a burner) and retreive the file to burn. Or, you can email the zip file(providing you have a high-storage email program, hotmail's free program gives you 1gb, which should be plenty) to a computer with a burner, extract the file and burn the CD from the file.

There are other cloning programs besides Ghost, check out download.com or Tucows to find a free one. I've never tried them, though.

There are 2 problems. The first one is that you need to compress it and create a setup for it to install. That is not possible. The 2. one is that you would need a bunch of registry entities that can't be copied too. Sry, but no way.
